The recent terrorist attacks conducted by Israel on #Lebanon continues to be inhumane and intolerable. Israel's policies, since its creation, had not only been based on genocidal, western hegemony but it has deliberately and intentionally created hundreds of thousands of people with disabilities for the sole purpose of mass mutilation (mass extinction) of an entire nation. Particularly, the Arab people, whether they are Muslims, Christians or Jews. It is perfectly clear, and has always been clear, that Israel has been using #disability as a weapon of war. A way to "kill off" or "mow the lawn" through their military law and occupation. The creation and maintence of Israel's military and its' occupation of Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, as well as Jordan and Egypt, have been fully supported and funded by our own US tax dollars and resources. The sole purpose of Israel's military occupation is to disabled as many people as possible that will eventually lead to slow mutilation, as long as Israel is allowed to deprive millions of Palestinians from food, water, electricity, medicine and disability-related devices. Once again, for all disabled leaders who have remain silent and those who continue to ignore what is happening, the longer you wait to speak up, the more you will eventually lose your credibility. Your respectability. And your legacy. Judy Heumann, an incredible disability activist whom I personally looked up to, has done little-to-nothing for disabled people in the Arab world. Yet, I continue to read the so-called "one billion lives" she has impacted. The irony of all of this is disabled leaders will speak up from a humanatarian standpoint. Not political, not social, not economic. But, from a charity standpoin. After decades of combatting attitudinal barriers and viewing disabled people from a "chairty point of view," we have been seeing those same disabled leaders projecting the charity model on disabled people in the Middle East. If our disabled leaders of today do not check their privilege, they will be the ones who will be moving the disability movement backwards. So, if there is anything to take away from this post, it is that, as one community, as one powerful disability nation, let us all be stronger, together. https://lnkd.in/ghA8myne

Murphy’s Law in action! Here’s how our Independence Day campaign turned into a comedy of errors: 1. Spent a week on an idea—only to find out it’s a logistical disaster. 2. Had 24 hours to cook up a brand-new concept. 3. Our actor bailed, so we shot the video on approval day—no prep, just vibes. 4. Mics went MIA (still lost!), so we recorded audio on a phone. 5. Visuals? What visuals? We had to cut parts of the video. 6. Main designer fell sick mid-project—because why not? 7. Planned for August 13th, launched late on August 14th—better late than never! 8. Had to repost after forgetting to turn off auto-captions. Oops! 9. Meta refused to boost the video because of “sensitive content.” Classic. 10. And to top it all off, I had to rush to my hometown for a personal emergency right in the middle of everything. After all that, the campaign is live! #Menstrual hygiene is directly linked to a country's #freedom and #development. When women and girls are unable to manage their periods with dignity and hygiene, it can #severely impact their health, education, and overall well-being. This, in turn, limits a country's potential for progress. 1.Economic Disadvantage: - #Absenteeism due to period-related health issues can negatively impact women's employment opportunities and earnings. - Limited access to menstrual products can be a financial burden for women, especially those from low-income households. 2. Social Stigma and Discrimination: - In many cultures, menstruation is still stigmatized, leading to social isolation and discrimination against women and girls. - This can limit their social and economic opportunities. 3. Health Implications: - Poor menstrual hygiene can lead to serious health problems, including infections, reproductive tract infections, and other illnesses. -These health issues can hinder women's productivity and overall well-being. 4. Educational Disparity: - Many girls miss school during their periods due to lack of access to menstrual products and sanitation facilities. - This can lead to significant academic setbacks and lower educational attainment. A country (Kenya) that truly values freedom and equality must prioritize menstrual hygiene. By ensuring access to menstrual products, sanitation facilities, and education, countries can empower women and girls, boost their economic potential, and contribute to overall societal development. #freedomandmestrualhygiene
