Balancing short-term financial obligations is hard enough, but then figuring out how to also save for retirement is exceptionally hard (coupled with determining how, if, and to what extent those savings should be converted into guaranteed income). Have you considered how your employees would benefit by reopening your defined benefit pension plan? And, how might it help you be an employer of choice? And whether it might actually be less cash-intensive or risky as you might have thought (because, for example, of the advent of newer plan designs that help manage some of these factors).
