📢 Breaking news PopUp Mainframe, the virtual, on-demand mainframe, today announced the general availability of their latest release: ✨ Warp Speed PopUp ✨ 🚀 Our new and improved ‘Warp Speed PopUp’ has been massively optimised for fast installation and start up. ⏱️ Our latest version of PopUp (version 2.4Ua) now boasts an installation and start up time of just 10 minutes. This represents an approximate 10-fold improvement on the previous version, which, whist no slouch, took between 45 and 90 minutes for installation and start up. 🗜️ Data compression has also been built-in at the storage level, resulting in a monumentally compact footprint for the Warp Speed PopUp which is now 5x smaller than any previous version of PopUp Mainframe. ⚙️ With BMC Software AMI DevX tools preinstalled and configured on the PopUp, and in conjunction with Delphix, users can achieve complete #mainframe #DevOps with the ability to snapshot, rewind and fast forward their mainframe to any point in time. https://buff.ly/3V4R0wD IBM #Delphix #BMC #PopUpMF

At team PopUp Mainframe we are incredibly excited with this latest release. We can have a Mainframe running in the cloud or on prem in less than 10 mins with the BMC Software DevOps Tooling preinstalled and preconfigured. This is a game changer for the Mainframe Industry as organisations can start their #mainframemodernization journey without any disruption to their existing setups or any need to install new tooling which can be arduous. We have developed bespoke git plugins so literally you can move some source code to git and start doing CI/CD in a day. As we all know #devops has been around for a while but because of the siloed nature of #mainframe; although the technology is there the antiquated processes combined with the lack of innovation as meant many organisation are still working waterfall with all manual testing. Often this is because the mainframe is outsourced to one of the big SIs and therefore stands still as they are in the body business and reducing headcount is not their business model :-) Mainframe has a bad rep for being expensive when actually the cost per transaction is far lower than any other platform and is also the greenest technology because of the compute power on one or more machines. What is expensive is the cost of change because of antiquated ways of working and manual testing and inflexible long term outsourced contracts. PopUp Mainframe allows you to throw off the shackles with clean environments so you can shed technical debt and move to full CI/CD at a fraction of the cost utilising BMC Software and Delphix. Using Delphix allows you to mask data from production using the compliance product and then using the Continuous Test product you can self service full virtualised mainframe environments to repeat cycles of testing using the BMC tooling. At any point using Delphix you can branch a whole Mainframe and give it to another team to test and rewind that also! #PopUp will change the landscape because if you are not working like this your Mainframe change will be simply too expensive and your business in which ever domain will be uncompetitive. People have been talking about migrating off Mainframe for years and it is high risk, expensive and completely unnecessary. #Mainframe is by far the fastest and most reliable technology in the world and #PopUp is the enabler to modernise. In a world where data is growing exponentially along with transaction volumes, (do you know Mainframe accounts for 70% of the worlds transactions??) coming off the Mainframe is nonsensical when it is straight forward to transform it. I invite you to have a read of what we are doing and contact us if you would like to know more 🎉 Mike Xenakis, Bruce Patience, Veronika Westerlund, Stuart Ashby, Tim Hunt, Howard Brown, Faisal Majid, Atul Bhovan, Jack Holroyd, Gary Hallam, Deron Miller, Jedidiah Yueh, Hannah Cole, Stuart Williams, Matthew Eldrett, Tom Hockton
