It is the only way to ensure their safe use. With new technology can come a fear of change. Or, perhaps, the fear that we are replaceable.  But with every new development, we see that incorporating technology is truly difficult. That's because humans are excellent at adapting and improvising as situations change. Even in simple situations, it's easy to miss our innate ability to innovate. That's why, even decades after the technology was first pioneered, autonomous mobile robots are far from ubiquitous. I found this conversation with Professor Roland Siegwart, director of the Autonomous Systems Lab in Switzerland, very interesting. It's a great reminder that technology in and of itself cannot create perfect solutions to the problems that ail an industry. It still takes great people, thoughtful systems, and the correct application to make an impact. 

That's how robots perceive the environment! 🤖 This is the procedure for using a laser scanner to map the surrounding area. Simultaneous Localization and Mapping, or SLAM, is a technology that enables a device to map its surroundings and locate itself on the map in real-time. It gives the machine the ability to move through its environment and comprehend its surroundings, making it a crucial ability for autonomous systems. P.S.
