The Curtis Road and Heaslip Road intersection at Angle Vale is set for a $30 million upgrade to improve safety and ease congestion, supporting the rapidly expanding nearby residential developments. The upgrade includes a new roundabout, new shared-use paths and improved crossing points. A detailed design for the roundabout is currently being finalised, with construction expected to start in 2025. The project will be jointly funded (50:50) by the Australian and South Australian governments. This news article is about the #LOSSAN #Rail Relocation Project in #SanDiego County. Here are the key points I've gathered: 1. The project aims to relocate the rail tracks off the eroding #DelMar bluffs to improve safety and efficiency. 2. #SANDAG has released a "Notice of Preparation of a Draft Environmental Impact Report," marking the start of an 18-month environmental review process. 3. Three alignment options are being considered, all involving tunnels due to the steep grade in Del Mar. 4. The public can provide input on the project through July 19, 2024, and attend a meeting on June 18, 2024, for more information. 5. The environmental process is expected to be complete by the end of 2025, with the design-build phase beginning in 2026 and completion slated for 2035. 6. The LOSSAN rail corridor is crucial for both passenger and freight transportation, with 3.7 million daily users and over $1 billion in goods transported annually. 7. The project has received significant funding from state and federal grants to support the construction of new tracks, a special events platform, and the replacement of the San Dieguito Lagoon rail bridge. This project appears to be a significant undertaking that will address long-standing safety and operational issues along the LOSSAN rail corridor. The public input process and environmental review will be critical in determining the best alignment option and minimizing the project's impact on the community and environment.

🚧 Demo & Removal of Water Infrastructure at Drakes Estero in Point Reyes National Seashore 🚧 This project involved the demolition and removal of abandoned oyster racks and debris from Drakes Estero in Point Reyes National Seashore. HECO Engineers provided expertise and services, including project management, design, and demolition, to facilitate the restoration and habitat improvement of the Estero. The project successfully removed 7.07 acres of oyster racks, over 5 miles of debris, and 500 tons of marine waste. It also included the treatment of shell accumulation under the racks to create a better habitat for eelgrass, benefiting the local ecosystem. 🎉The project contributed to the conservation efforts within the Phillip Burton Wilderness and improved the overall health of Drakes Estero. Services provided by HECO Engineers: ☑️ Project Management ☑️ Project Design ☑️ Environmental Engineering ☑️ Survey ☑️ Title I Scoping ☑️ Demolition Services Do you have a project on the horizon? Together with the project owner, today we had another very profitable process where we fine-tuned the construction process for a large Icelandic infrastructure project, Borgrlinan Lota 1. Being fully aligned with the client in any project is a basic prerequisite for the success of the consultancy. And here we are quite well on our way. (yes, it is not supposed to be readable in LinkedIn)
