The Master Buddy Program links starting entrepreneurs to a team of master students. They are the buddy whose principal mission is to make an entrepreneur happy. The program starts in September and is open for registration. The program works pretty straight forward: an entrepreneur has a question and the Buddies act as a support to get to a solution. This can be about deceptively simple questions such as: 'What's an appropriate strategy for my company?', 'What opportunities are there within my market?' or 'Really, what do I have to offer to my customers?'. But simple questions are not always the easiest to solve. The Master Buddies spar, provide support, ask critical questions, have an analytical view and help bring up relevant data. They spend half a day per week on this for a full semester. Students come from the master's program Innovation & Entrepreneurship (I&E) at Radboud University. The program is organized in collaboration with local partners in and around #Nijmegen such as StartUp Nijmegen and Mercator Launch. The coordination of the Master Buddy Program is in the hands of dr. ir. Nanne Migchels. Registrations, questions and queries can be directed at nanne.migchels@ru.nl. Deadline is September 1st, 2024.

Over the weekend, our team of TUM S.E.E.D. Center Scholars had the incredible opportunity to participate in the prestigious 20th Annual #SEConf, hosted at IMD from April 18 to 20. We showcased our research through three insightful paper presentations, highlighting our commitment to advancing knowledge in social and sustainable entrepreneurship, met old friends and SEED affiliates, such as Esther Salvi, and made new ones. Among our presentations were: ➡ "Unpacking Impact Drift: A Conceptual Paper to Shift Our Attention to the Societal Level of Analysis" by Alessia Argiolas and Hans Rawhouser from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. ➡"Stay on Board We’ll Make It Work: How Social Enterprises Maintain Pragmatic Legitimacy Amidst Profitability Struggles" by Mohammed Bendaanane and Frank-Martin Belz, which delves into the dynamic narratives of social entrepreneurs and their strategies to navigate legitimacy challenges. ➡"Strategies of Social Enterprises in Institutional Change: The Case of E-Mobility in Kenya" by Katharina Eichinger and Frank-Martin Belz, exploring the role of sustainable ventures in shaping the institutional landscape for e-mobility, particularly in contexts of high uncertainty. Our interactions at the conference were incredibly enriching, providing valuable feedback to advance our research and fostering meaningful connections within the social entrepreneurship community. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the entire team at IMD, especially Sophie Bacq and Jill Kickul, for organizing such this exceptional event. ⁉ Stay curious as we continue to translate our new insights into actionable projects in the months ahead. 🚀 Together, we're shaping a more sustainable and impactful future. #TUMSEEDCenter #SEConf #SocialEntrepreneurship #ImpactResearch #SustainableEntrepreneurship #IMDImpact

I'm pleased to inform our new article entitled "An Idea Evaluation Phase in Online Communities: A Case on the COVID-19 Innovation Platform" has been published in the Journal of Organisational Studies and Innovation (ESCI). The main purpose of this study is to reveal the effectiveness of the different Multi-criterion decision-making methods via online communities in the idea evaluation phase. Evaluating innovation ideas, especially, requires a complex process. While decision-making for incremental innovations, which involve less risk and cost, is relatively easier, it can be more challenging for radical and disruptive innovations such as start-up ideas and in the crisis situation such as Covid-19. Doubts about evaluation criteria and weight, subjective assessments of decision makers can lead to different outcomes. Therefore, this study sheds light on which Multi-criterion decision-making method should be applied in situations where there are doubts and subjective evaluations. https://lnkd.in/d5mtGECd #ideaevaluation #decisionmaking #innovation #openinnovation #innovationplatform #startupideas #entrepreneurship
