LET PROPERTY MANAGEMENT SAVE YOU FROM YOURSELF! After 7 years managing both commercial and residential properties, I've seen a common mistake of owners stepping over dollars to pick up dimes. Effective property management can steer you away from decisions that seem economical upfront but may prove costly down the line. This may or may not be a true story: We once had a client with an office building that was struggling to get leased because of its age and location. Eventually a large national co-working entity engaged us on a deal to move into the building. One of the requirements was that the landlord would cover the regular cleaning services for the space, a totally reasonable request. Our management team got multiple vendors to bid on a cleaning contract. When we presented the client with the pricing, they were not happy at the amount it was going to cost. They offered a great solution to the problem. We could go out and purchase multiple Roombas to keep the space clean! This was a serious suggestion. And to be fair, it definitely would have been a lot cheaper than the human cleaners! We kindly explained that the roombas were not going to get the job done quite to the standard that the lease required and we were able to save the deal! #NAIChallenge #propertymanagement #CRE
