From birth to the age of three, children experience rapid growth and development. Children who suffer from malnutrition during this stage of life will not develop optimally. Malnutrition at an early age will affect the child's physical, mental, and emotional capacity throughout their life. To support the government's program to accelerate the reduction of stunting, Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) implements various nutrition programs targeting children aged 0-5 years (toddlers). One of the programs currently being run by WVI is the Nutrition Post with the Positive Deviance Hearth (PD Hearth) approach. For 1.9 billion Muslims, Ramadan is the ninth and holiest Islamic month and this year starts on March 11. During the 30 days of Ramadan, many Muslims fast, refraining from food, drink, smoking and sex, between dawn and sunset each day. Fasting is only compulsory for adult Muslims. There are exemptions for people who are sick, elderly, pregnant, breastfeeding, menstruating or travelling. As Ramadan slowly moves across seasons, the fasting days are getting cooler and shorter than last year, at least for those in the northern hemisphere and those close to the equator. Regardless of where you live, it is important to drink plenty of fluids when breaking your fast at sunset and before you start your fast at dawn. Scientific research has shown that fasting is good for your health. Animal studies have shown fasting results in longer life and better health. In humans, research suggests body weight, blood glucose, blood cholesterol and blood pressure all improve with fasting. Most people consider Vitamin D deficiency to be a common thing, but Vitamin D deficiency can prove to be quite fatal for the human body. I started reading about Vitamin D when I myself faced its deficiency. Vitamin D is required by people of all ages- be it a child, young adult or aged person. A study conducted by Tata 1mg Labs revealed that 76% of the Indian population suffers from Vitamin D Insufficiency. Its prevalence was highest in the age group of below 25 years (84%), followed by 25–40 years (81%). Dwarka Express published my views on this extremely important topic on December 30, 2023. Please read and share any topic related to education and parenting, on which you are interested in reading an article written by me. #vitamind #awareness #sabkishiksha #sabkishikshafoundation

📣 New Publication Alert 📚 One of the chapters from my PhD thesis has been officially published in the International Journal of Food Science and Nutrition. In our study, we found that adverse cognitive outcomes in adolescence are often caused by multiple factors, and one of these factors is exposure to low maternal haemoglobin concentrations during pregnancy. For those interested in the details, you can easily access the full paper here: https://lnkd.in/eQVn2H9E I would like to express my gratitude to all co-authors for their valuable contributions Hastrin Hositanisita, Siti Muslimatun, Monique L'Hoir, Edith Feskens, and Alida Melse. #ResearchPublication #AdolescentHealth #Nutrition #CognitiveDevelopment #PhDResearch

Today a client asked me how I overcame the chronic migraine headaches I had since age 8. While there were many factors I believe that contributed, such as diet and lifestyle, Qigong was a big part of my journey. You can read more about it here. Thanks again @consciouscityguide for giving me a platform to share. Many blessings for 2024! #growthmindset #migraines #migraineawareness #healthandwellness #qigong #chigong #taichi #healthcoach

After church community refreshments and chat centers on aging medical needs and the various doctors and hospital incidents encountered and invariably what each engages to deal with blood pressure, cholesterol, cardio vascular issues etc etc. Interesting info arising.. The most "powerful" BP lowering "treatment".. Near instantaneous effect is celery, cucumber and green apple juiced together. Word of caution.!! abrupt overstrength mix can bring about a sudden drop which will cause you to faint as a church member discovers with near instant BP drop after drink. Reminds me of a shredded cucumber drink by the Padang, Indonesia communities. Watermelon.. Absolutely no surprises on this for me for both BP and cholesterol regulation and cardiovascular issues (in conjunction with other intakes) Cardiovascular issues? Keep up low to medium exercise activities. Don't stop work after retirement. Sudden deterioration from no activity.. As shared by seniors and those ahead in years.

Thirty Days of Ramadan Requirements for a Fast Day The intention (niyyat) to fast must be made, aloud or silently. The period of the fast extends from the time just before sunrise (fajr) until after sunset (maghrib). During the period of the fast, total abstinence from the following is required: food, drink (including water), smoking or consumption of tobacco, sexual intercourse, and any form of negativity— backbiting, fighting, cursing, arguing and similar behaviors. Semen may not be deliberately emitted, nor may one deliberately vomit. Pregnant or lactating women, the seriously ill, the aged, and the insane are exempted from fasting. A woman does not fast on days when she is menstruating. Children under the age of twelve generally are excluded from the fast but may fast part of the day or for some days. The fast is broken after sunset with an odd number of dates or a glass of water, followed by a modest meal. ***
