An inquiry that came in that may be helpful for others: Q: "We have a couple patients on (Oral Medication) who have grants and have about $1,000 left. We are being told they have to exhaust the grant before they can get free drug, however they would have to pay about $15000 out of pocket. Do you have any suggestions?" A: "If the PAP requires an absolute $0 balance on the patient’s grant before they can assist and the patient’s balance with the foundation is too low to pay their copay, then I think the only option will be for the patient to request via for their grant balance to be zeroed out. They have to state that the reason for the request is to enable them to get access to PAP assistance. We will then honor the request and adjust their grant balance down to $0 only for that specific reason" Make sure to check with the specific foundation the patient is enrolled in, as each Foundation may handle this a little differently. #KeepYourQuestionsComing #HereToHelp #Foundations

Today is #ClinicalTrialsDay. In a world where more and more information are, presumably, obtained through all sorts of tech solutions, #machinelearning, #bigdata #AI, there is still a need for "old fashion" trials. I have seen several times before where data driven analysis do actually produce interesting hypotheses, but how can we trust them? Clinical trials quantifies the #scientific procedure that is needed to find out IF there actaually is a real effect or just a coincidence. Good clinical trials also requires good data handling, data manipulation, analysis plans, procedures for analysis and reporting. #statistics #science
Today we are celebrating #clinicaltrialsday. https://lnkd.in/eDYjHMK

STEPTEMBER – is here – another Challenge 😊 Earlier this year I did a skipping challenge for LauraLynn, it was tough but I loved it. My next challenge starts on 1st September and it is to walk 10,000 steps every day for MS Ireland. Over 9000 people in Ireland have MS and it’s the most common debilitating neurological condition affecting young adults in Ireland and there is no know cause or cure. The cost of MS in Ireland is €429m per year 10,000 steps a day is a bid deal for me, I check my average steps over the past month and I am lucky to walk 10,000 steps a week. 😊 so this is going to totally get me to step outside my comfort zone.(excuse the pun) and get back to being fit in the process. My biggest issues is time, or so I thought. Time is an illusion and we have more than we realise, its all about how we spend it. I now try to get a walk in at my lunch time and before I go home from work every day, I now leave my bag in the car and go for a walk to start building up my steps, so I am ready for September 1st, or should I say Steptember 😊 New habits create new behaviours, new behaviours create new opportunities. So how can you help – firstly please like and share this post, if you are interested in joining the challenge, then pop over to the MS Ireland website and sign up for the challenge. There is also a link on this page if you feel you would like to donate to support the great work that MS Ireland do every day. Here is the link - https://lnkd.in/e2_NB_Bw Any help is greatly appreciated - Thank you Day 1 of the challenge starts on 1st September Multiple Sclerosis Ireland

As June approaches, we're reminded that MG Awareness Month is not just a time for advocacy but also an opportunity for us to unite in advancing myasthenia gravis care and clinical research. Whether you're conducting groundbreaking research, providing exceptional patient care, or raising awareness about MG within your professional networks, every effort counts. June is three months away, but here are a few things you can do NOW to start getting ready: -Share your latest research and insights with the community. -Submit an MG Awareness Month proclamation request. Requesting an MG Awareness Month proclamation from state or local government usually takes 45-60 days, so put in your requests soon. -Find a community partner, like a local business or a national chain, to host a fundraiser in June. Explore our MG Awareness Month toolkit for additional guidance: https://ow.ly/JNnP50QNStG Together we can push the boundaries of what's possible in MG care and research. #MGStrong #MGFA #MGAwarenessMonth #Healthcare #Research #PatientCare

CEO and founder of Helium Arts - Supporting the wellbeing of children living with lifelong physical health conditions
Delighted to have Helium Arts key findings from our 2023 Impact Report get a mention in the Irish Medical Times yesterday. Highlights from the report include the following: Of those surveyed- 84 per cent of children reported they felt happier when going to hospital and 100% of parents said that their child’s mood was positively impacted. Seeing their children happier meant that 98 per cent of parents reported their own mood was positively impacted while in the hospital waiting room. 97 per cent of medical professionals reported that their experience of delivering healthcare to children with lifelong physical health conditions was positively impacted. 51 per cent of community programme participants came from rural areas, 39 per cent were from disadvantaged backgrounds, and 53 per cent had a disability or additional needs, with research showing that children from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds and those who live in more rural areas face greater challenges due to lifelong physical health conditions. 100 per cent of parents and medical professionals reported that their awareness of the positive impact of arts and creativity for wellbeing was increased. https://lnkd.in/ef_9_Dce You can find the full report here: https://lnkd.in/eg-v383w

Catalyzing Post-Traumatic Growth & Equitable Systems I focus on creating restorative programs that spark post-traumatic growth for people and communities. My work centers on bridging divides to empower humans to thrive.
Food insecurity is a growing concern across Pinellas County. We are honored to work with Daystar Life Center, Inc. through our #projecttryton initiative. According to Feeding America's Map the Meal Gap 2020 study, which used data from 2018: Pinellas County: - Food insecurity rate: 12.2% (124,430 people) - Child food insecurity rate: 19.1% (38,080 children) Hillsborough County: - Food insecurity rate: 12.6% (178,820 people) - Child food insecurity rate: 19.5% (61,600 children) It's important to note that these numbers are from before the COVID-19 pandemic, which likely exacerbated food insecurity in these counties and across the United States. Feeding America projected that the overall food insecurity rate for the United States could have reached up to 15.6% in 2020 due to the economic impact of the pandemic. #endhunger
