⭕ 2024 highlights: Rolls-Royce is doubling the size of its Raynesway site in Derby which will create 1,170 direct jobs and hundreds more across the UK's supply chain. The huge expansion is required to meet the growth in demand from the Royal Navy and to supply all the nuclear reactor plants that will power the new attack submarines as part of AUKUS - the recently announced tri-lateral agreement between Australia, the UK and US. Rolls-Royce Submarines currently employs more than 4,000 people and designs, manufactures and provides in-service support to the pressurised water reactors that power every boat in the Royal Navy’s submarine fleet.
great news for job. just a shame it’s for building things that are designed to kill and destroy
Impressive news about Rolls-Royce’s expansion and the job opportunities it will bring to the UK! The growth in demand from the Royal Navy and AUKUS is certainly an exciting development for the defense sector. It’s great to see companies like Rolls-Royce contributing to both national security and economic growth by creating such a significant number of jobs. Looking forward to seeing the impact of this expansion on the supply chain and the broader industry.
This is more evidence, making products that you your customers want ,will generate growth
What a great British institution 🫡 The only rolls I will be getting are bacon ones 😅
A company very close to my heart. I remember the Rolls-Royce Xmas parties as a kid and Air shows with my Pops. Oscar Glenn who was Senior management in Hillington on the engines all his life. Love reading news like this.
Congratulations, Stuart! This is an incredible milestone for Rolls-Royce and a significant boost for the UK economy. It's inspiring to see such growth and commitment to innovation and support for the Royal Navy. Excited to see what the future holds!
