Groww started as a platform that focussed on attracting new customers with long term investment products mutual funds, especially systematic investment plan (SIPs) and then moved on to direct equity investment on its broking platform. Its entire customer acquisition and marketing strategy is anchored on this premise. But there is no money in that. Groww platform and their services are getting pathetic day by day. 1.Every month SIP gets auto debited and this month it has been not because of groww system failure and they intimate the customer after 10 days and still they do not know why it has been not deducted inspite of mandate/biller added and sufficient balance. They are saying now to pay through groww autopay another mandate. Why?? If biller mandate is already there. It is pain to connect groww customer care as it takes minimum 20-30 mins to connect with their executive and then they do not have solution at their system and raise ticket and provide standard reply to they can not track the transaction! 2. Right shares has been allotted and amount is also debited from bank, still REs are not reflecting in DP holding dashboard because of which unable to sell. Loosing profit! Allotment, bank debit and shares credit details from CDSL and Linktime has been shared with Groww, still they deny! It’s been 3 months from date of allotment. Their reply is you have not applied for REs due to the same right entitlement has been extinguished! Your tag line should be not ab India karega invest but “Ab India karega groww se exit” Because groww makes finance complicated for millions of people! Groww vs Zerodha battle in broking industry In an interview CEO of Zerodha Nithin kamath told 1) "As an ideology, we don’t offer any cashback or free stuff" 2) "Trading is serious business and cashback isn’t something that should lure people into trading or investing" 3) We continue to be the only broker in the country to charge an account opening fee… "Collecting an account opening fee right at the start also, in a way, helps set this expectation with a potential customer, filtering out users who may not be serious about trading or investing with us,". India’s mutual-fund industry crossed the Rs 50 lakh crore-mark in assets under management—with retail investors taking the lead—in December 2023. Online direct-investment platforms like Groww and Angel One are fuelling the retail frenzy by offering commission-free direct plans.
