Does a sharp pivot away from a component of a business' revenue strategy promise share in markets where competitors are already entrenched? I do not think so for one big reason - sharp pivots almost always result from reactions to market conditions. By definition, reactions are recovery tactics, fundamentally dissimilar from tactics designed to deliver successfully on strategy. Think of reactions as tactics without strategy. Risk of failure is, necessarily, higher, would you not agree? Yet investors are pressuring Apple management to pivot into the generative AI market. What are the odds of success? Why? #competition #apple #investors #generativeai https://lnkd.in/e55hmqJH

Apple shares experienced a notable increase of up to 2.7% on Friday, largely fueled by positive analyst sentiment surrounding the anticipated launch of the iPhone 16 and the company's strategic rollout of artificial intelligence initiatives. Despite this upward trend, the stock faced initial pressure in early trading, attributed to disappointing revenue figures from China, which overshadowed an otherwise robust performance. Gene Munster, Managing Partner at Deepwater Asset Management, provided insights on these developments during a discussion with Ed Ludlow on "Bloomberg Technology." As Apple navigates these mixed signals, the market will be closely watching how the upcoming product launches and AI strategies unfold in the coming months. #Apple #iPhone16 #AI #StockMarket #InvestmentInsights ---------------------- Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/enxEf_cs

I'm a little late to this party, but it's given me some more time to think about Apple and their #AI strategy. For starters, Apple Intelligence being usable on iPhone 15 Pro models is a good thing. It allows existing customers, that might be hesitant about on-prem AI, to test out the product on an existing device. Also, I'm sure Apple has a trove of data on *who* bought that specific model and is banking on gathering data about how they use it (and hoping they like it enough to drive them to buy the iPhone 16). Next is vertical integration: this is what Apple is all about - controlling their ecosystem. It makes sense that those in Cupertino want Apple iPhone users using Apple AI processed in Apple data centers on Apple silicon. They more of their user experience and business supply chain they have direct input on, the more resilient and consistent they can deliver. Nothing released from the #WWDC24 conference should come as a surprise, but I'm very curious to see where Apple takes AI long term. #AI #Apple #iPhone16 https://lnkd.in/gzXVGArj

I watch Apple today do what Apple does: take an existing technology, redesign it with the Apple lifestyle, and sell it out to consumers. No doubt Apple intelligence (AI) was spot on, lolz, as expected from the Apple brand. After seeing their selling point, I wondered why their stock wasn't performing in the market. Based on the image below, most companies love the Apple security way of life, and not everyone is on board yet. wwdc 2024, if you watched it. "Not #First, but #Best. Tim Cook defends Apple coming late to AI with this four words" The AI landscape is rapidly evolving, and companies like Apple are taking a unique approach. While some criticize Apple for being late to the #AI game, CEO Tim Cook emphasizes the philosophy of "Not first, but best." This mindset prioritizes delivering #innovative technology that genuinely enhances user experiences over mere speed to market. Cook believes that advancements like Apple Intelligence will profoundly change lives, much like the breakthroughs we saw with the iPod and iPhone. He describes this moment as a pivotal shift in technology curves. As we witness the rollout of products like #AppleVision, it's crucial to remember that true innovation rarely happens overnight. Are we ready to embrace this slow-burn success? In a world where instant gratification is the norm, Apple's deliberate strategy could redefine how we value technology. #ArtificialIntelligence #TechInnovation #Apple #TimCook #FutureofTech Source: https://lnkd.in/dMr2w5zE
