True story and I can't believe this is 2025 Dear Companies, If you're innovative enough to prototype groundbreaking technology, surely you're innovative enough to... *checks notes*... pay people for their work? Straight from a FemTech slack group, where a biotech startup posted the role - "unpaid social media intern." The role they wanted to fill FOR FREE: 🤷♀️ Managing ALL their social media platforms 🤷♀️ Creating engaging content 🤷♀️ Building community 🤷♀️ Handling their entire online presence Here’s the thing - ❌ Exposure doesn't pay rent ❌ Experience doesn't buy groceries ❌ Connections don't cover bills Want to know if a role deserves payment? Ask yourself: "Would I do this for free?" If the answer is no, then why should anyone else?
