I love watching this. I love 2D Animation. I really miss those Disney animation renaissance years. In fact, this was the best era of Disney animation for me.
This movie is the reason why I wake up every day. It changed my life and makes me happy every time I watch it. The GOAT of all animated films!

I was 13 years old when I wrote a letter (pen and paper kind!) from New Zealand to Walt Disney Studios asking them what I should do to be an animator after seeing the Lion King. Was so happy to receieve mail from them! Probably still have it in a box somewhere back in NZ in storage. 28 years later, I'm working in film and television in vfx. Maybe it's time I tried picking up the pencil again..

"The Lion King" made me fall in love with the movies. I watched it over and over again on a Laser Disc when I was 3 years old. I didn't catch it in theaters until the twenty year anniversary re-release in 3D. The hand-drawn animation really pops in 3D, but I'm the biggest, most die-hard fan of the original :) This behind-the-scenes clip made my day.
