The Yak-40 became the world's first ever true regional jet. While other aircraft manufacturers built similar size jets for corporates and business public, the Soviet Yakovlev's made the sturdy regional jet for airlines and usual folks flying from village airfields. And it was made by the design bureau previously known only for its small piston trainers and jet fighters. The USSR wanted to use the success to gain its market share in the West, far from its usual Soviet bloc satellites. The first Western operator appeared in 1970 when the Italian airline Aertirrena received its first batch of three Yak-40s. It was the period of warm political relationships between the USSR and Italy - Italian Fiat helped to begin the mass production of automobiles in Soviet Toliatti. These three Yak-40s were offered as payment in exchange for a supply of machinery for the textile industry in the USSR. The operation history was not really successful due to lack of spare parts, problems with maintenance and overall political situation. Despite active promotion only eight aircraft ever operated there, three in Italy and five in West Germany #aviationindustry #aviation #aviationlovers #aviationhistory #airplane #aircraft #airlineindustry

Information ! As per Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, the Russian "yet to be in service" narrow body aircraft MS-21 could receive a shortened version along with the basic variant. In an interview with Vedomosti, he said, "In the process of implementing plans to create Russian analogues of our aircraft systems and avionics, it is also necessary to adapt the design itself to them. A good option would be to additionally make a version of the aircraft fuselage shortened by one section". According to him, this will enable airlines to operate the aircraft "more efficiently" taking into account the resulting weight characteristics and at the same time maintain the original parameters for flight range with a load of 140-150 people. He also mentioned that the program for the production of this aircraft has been “haunted by sanctions” since 2014. For example, in 2019, supplies of American composite materials for the wings of this aircraft were stopped. He added further, in 2022, an entire pool of foreign suppliers stopped working with the United Aircraft Corporation ( UAC, part of Rostec and the manufacturer of the aircraft), which entailed the need to replace 36 aircraft systems. #aircraft #aviation

When you could fly from JFK into Manhattan. New York Airways was established in 1949 as a mail and cargo carrier. Over time, it expanded its services to cater to passengers traveling to and from major airports in the greater New York City area. From its humble beginnings with the Sikorsky S-55 helicopter, which could accommodate eight passengers, New York Airways rapidly expanded its fleet. In 1956, the Sikorsky S-58, capable of carrying up to 12 passengers, was added. This growth continued with the introduction of the Vertol V-44, which could carry 20 passengers, and the Boeing Vertol BV 107-II, seating 25 passengers. The airline's last aircraft, the Sikorsky S-61, could accommodate up to 25 people, marking a significant milestone in its fleet expansion. The commercial helicopter service provided a fast, scenic, cost-effective airport commute option. However, there were downsides as well. The increasing fuel prices made profitability challenging to achieve. Helicopter noise posed a problem, and safety concerns were a significant issue. Unfortunately, the carrier ceased operations in 1979 due to unfortunate circumstances and tragic events. #aviationphoto #aviationphotography #civilaviation #stockphotos #zoggavia #boeing #newyorkairways #slides #kodak #kodachrome #classicaviation #helicopter The image shows c/n MSN 5 N6675D Boeing Vertol 107, the civil version of the CH-46 Sea Knight tandem rotor helicopter used by the US Navy, US Marines, and other nations, of New York Airways in Manhattan, NYC, 1963. The vast expanse of the ocean is a silent witness to many untold stories. But what happens when the skies above these waters become a battleground for strategic moves and counter-moves? Imagine a scene where a Russian spy plane flies dangerously close to a US aircraft carrier. What are the immediate reactions of the crew? How does the US Navy respond? And what are the broader implications of such encounters? To understand the gravity of this encounter, we first need to grasp the significance of the players involved. The US aircraft carrier, a floating fortress of power, represents a significant element of American military might. These behemoths are designed to project power, maintain peace, and respond swiftly to threats worldwide. With a crew of thousands and an air wing capable of striking targets hundreds of miles away, the aircraft carrier is the centerpiece of the US Navy’s strategic operations. These vessels are marvels of modern engineering, equipped with advanced radar systems, powerful defensive weaponry, and the capacity to launch and recover a wide variety of aircraft, from fighter jets to reconnaissance drones.

Why is aviation safety under scrutiny ? (What does the Japan 🇯🇵 jet inferno escape convey about safety measures?how have advances in aircraft manufacturing technology helped reduce mishaps?what about the response of the crew?why is the Boeing 737MAX9 under the scanner worldwide?) . . . the issue of air safety has played out under intense media scrutiny following two aviation incident. In the first instance,in January 2,a Japan airlines(JAL)airbus A350-900 collided with a Japan coast guard de haviiland Canada dash 8 after its landing, with both aircraft catching fire. While all 367 passengers and 12 crew on the JAL aircraft escaped, there were five fatalities (of a total of six passengers)on the coast guard plane. In the second instance,on January 5,an alaska airlines Boeing 737 MAX9 with 171 passengers and six crews, was departing from Portland,U.S.,when a widow panel’door plug’ blew out mid-air causing depressurisation. Mas de veinte años de experiencia en su mayoría como Director Financiero, así como en la gestión de inversiones y patrimonios, complementada con labores de integración en ámbitos internacionales.
These Are The Global Airlines With The Most Plane Crashes Before flight was even invented, humans have been fascinated by the vast skies above them, and for obvious reasons. There is inherent marvel in defying something as fundamental as gravity; in quite literally, reaching for the stars. And from the early days of military use, the aviation industry is now critical to the movement of goods and people around the world. Nevertheless, there are accidents, and while few and far between, their scale and tragedy tend to leave a big impact on collective psyches. But which airline companies have seen the most number of incidents?
