We have fantastic news on the academic boost - or "value-added" score - we give to all our students. 2023 results from the Cambridge Centre for Evaluation & Monitoring (CEM) put us in the top 6% of schools for value-add at A Level, when compared to both independent and state sectors. For GCSE, the measurements put Walthamstow Hall 24th out of 283 independent schools, so within the top 10% of the private sector. The scores aim to show how much progress an individual student has made from his or her starting point. Students' GCSE and A Level results are mapped onto their predicted grades based on Cognitive Ability Tests they sit in Y7 and Y12. Any improvement is deemed to be the 'value-add' given by their school. The takeaway is that if you want your daughter to do the best she can academically, you've done the right thing sending her to Wally.

We wish our 2024 leavers the very best as they settle into the next stage of life and education. The vast majority of our students secured places at their first choice university, with 56% heading to Russell Group universities. Mr Castell has been working at Walthamstow Hall for over 10 years, most recently as Director of Music. "Mr Castell's enthusiasm and energy has been clear from day one in his new role. We are absolutely delighted to share the news that the A*/A grades achieved by Walthamstow Hall Year 13 leavers represent the best A level examination results since at least 2017. Highlights of the results include: - 33% of all grades are A* - 62% of all grades are A* or A - 40% of the cohort have achieved all A*/A - Seven students have achieved all A*s - All medics secured their university places Ms Louise C., Headmistress, said “this group of students have achieved very impressive results and are set to head off to destinations which chime well with their individual aspirations. It was so lovely this morning to see the girls’ delight in the achievements of their friends as well as their own. I am extremely proud of them and of the fantastic team of staff whose excellent teaching and pastoral care has enabled them to attain these superb grades”.
