Sea temperature awareness, probably dropped another degree since NY. Cold water shock is a very real danger, if you fall into water, float on your back until your body has acclimatised. Don’t try and swim or get out until your body finishes acclimatisation (can take around 60 seconds) because it may not work and when this happens… YOU PANIC! Use the time acclimatising to work out how to call for help and /or plan your exit. #watersafety #drowningprevention

Today is #ImagineADayWithoutWater! What would your life be like without water? Without water, we would be unable to brush our teeth, cook, shower, and much more. Now more than ever, it is important to tell the Rural Water story and why water is important to rural communities.

❄️ Track the weather – If your open house is scheduled during a day when expecting inclement weather, it may be good to cancel it and reschedule for when the weather is friendlier for everyone. ❄️ Create a landing area – If you have an outdoor front porch, keep it as dry as possible to avoid guests slipping. Keep a rug or mat by the door so they can wipe their feet. ❄️ Set the temperature – Having a constant stream of visitors in the house also means the door will be opening and closing. Consider the continuing loss of heat when setting the temperature to ensure that you keep your home cozy and warm.
