Yesterday, the Resort had the honor of "passing of the torch" during the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics! Our very own Antonia Saturday and Cami Shutler laced up their running shoes alongside officers from local, county, state, federal, and military agencies to raise awareness and funds for the athletes of Special Olympics Southern California. In total, the Torch travels an impressive 950 miles throughout Southern California. Thank you to LETR for allowing us to participate!

Simple solution to protect our schools and children
CEO @ Crusaders Valor For Veterans | Veteran Advocate All post reflect my personal opinion and comments. It’s called the 1st Amendment. Thank you all
READ THIS YOU’LL BE SHOCKED “Schools are the perfect platform from which to launch the idea of GFZs because communities feel instinctively that schools should be places of non-violence. It is therefore relatively easy to get users and stakeholders to buy into the idea of a gun free school. A school is bigger than its grounds – there is a flow from schools to the wider community Once the gun free message is established at a school, it is easier to roll out the concept to nearby facilities, such as spaza shops and shebeens” I DONT BELIEVE ANY OF THIS BS !!! OUR SCHOOLS SHOULD BE PROTECTED BY OUR MILITARY, VETERANS, NATIONAL GUARD. Or LOCAL POLICE. Full time protection. Keep our tax dollars in America KEEP OUR KIDS SAFE 🙏

Love this Grainne! We so often focus on what sport psychs can bring to performance in the commercial world but rarely discuss what we can learn from frontline law enforcement, military and high stakes industries like aviation. I heard this presentation was exceptional - well done! Nick
Great to connect, present and see the fantastic work happening around the world at FEPSAC- Congress 2024, especially with reference to law enforcement and military populations. I wonder, we often look at what the world of sports can bring to other industries, but when will we look at what law enforcement / military can bring to those same industries including sport? Thank you to all of you and a special shout out to those who are working hard to support our law enforcement / military populations and wellness work. Some incredible people doing some phenomenal work. With John Heil & Robert Owens, EdD, LCMHC, CMPC, CPSS, CSCS, TSAC-F

In the world of public safety, readiness saves lives. We stand with #FEMA and public safety organizations across the nation to recognize #NationalPreparednessMonth. Our mission is to make sure officers and personnel at law enforcement, federal, and military agencies are trained, prepared, and ready to respond. But above all—we want to ensure they come home alive. https://hubs.ly/Q02PcPLB0

Any planet that confuses guns with gallantry is a planet of apes. Prioritizing military over education, we only build a world full of terrorists. Military is just legal terrorism, To fathom this you gotta be human. What do monkeys know of peace and love, When guns are their emblem of patriotism! We don't need civilian disarmament, We need absolute universal disarmament. Only a worldwide ban on firearms production, Can facilitate a paradigm of peaceful coexistence. Let's see which nation has the heart and backbone, To legislate absolute ban on firearms manufacture! Let's see who are the first civilized people, Let's see which nation is the first peacemaker! What's the point of one ceasefire, Let's pull the plug on all war. Let's disband all military, and siphon those funds to housing, education and healthcare.

●You would die for your family, but will you live for them? ●You will sacrifice your life for them, will you sacrifice you time and effort so you can be there for them a year from now, 20, 30? ●Time is limited and valuable. Will you miss some of your kid's games, dance competitions, etc to maintain your fitness so you won't miss their graduations, weddings, births of grandkids and everything else that follows a preventable early death? ●Do you have the discipline to pass up the momentary enjoyment of terrible meals to avoid a future of debilitating disease? ●Law enforcement officers are plagued by heart disease and the future looks even worse, as average fitness levels decline and obesity rates, even among young officers skyrocket. ●Even fit officers are vulnerable to adverse coronary events (although their survival rates and recovery are far better than their unfit colleges). ●Most heart related events don't happen, they develop over many years and early intervention can change the future. ●I survived a coronary artery dissection and widow maker heart attack because I went into it extremely fit. I am thriving now because I took control of my future, but it was a battle every day to make tiny improvements. I survived, but surviving an event isn't a given, nor is your recovery. Prevention is key. ☆Live for your loved ones. Live for yourself. Get screened, get fit, eat well, detect problems early and develop strategies to counter any issues they find.
At SIGMA, we are physicians, law enforcement officers, PhD researchers, and military veterans. Studies show that heart disease is a leading killer in law enforcement, and we pioneered a new program to more accurately assess early signs of heart disease and prevent heart attacks. Learn more about our cardiometabolic screening program that can save lives. Thank you Lexipol for helping support our mission!

Mistakes can lead to brilliant results
NORAD's Santa Tracker started on this day in 1955 with a simple typo. "A local Sears store in Colorado Springs ran a dial Santa ad in 1955. However, the number was a misprint. Instead of listing the number for Sears' Santa hotline, it posted the number for the Continental Air Defense Command Center. On Christmas Eve 1955, Colonel Harry Shoup began receiving calls while working at NORAD from kids asking to speak with Santa Claus. Instead of telling the kids that they dialed the wrong number, Shoup said that he wasn't Santa Claus but he could track him on radar. All night, Shoup and his team fielded calls, giving kids details about Santa's location as he and his reindeer flew through the sky to deliver gifts to children." This is how a tradition was born. NORAD opened its lines for Santa Tracking every year since.

As you know, Tim Walz has been accused of making false statements about his prior military service. Many have accused him of abandoning his unit right before they went to Iraq, and he has not spent a day in an actual combat zone. Essentially, Vance indicates that Walz should be convicted of Stolen Valor, especially since Walz never defended himself against these claims. For those who remember Full Metal Jacket, we can only imagine how Gunnery Sergeant Hartman would treat Walz if he enlisted in the Marines in the 80's. *Disclaimer: This content is in part for educational purposes. 𝐈𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐒𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐲𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐞 (𝐓𝐒𝐊𝟏𝟔𝟎𝟏) was our top growing page last month. As improperly stored dynamite ages, it can exude nitroglycerin, which crystalizes and makes the movement of the explosive very dangerous. Being able to recognize this hazard is important for first responders, law enforcement, and military personnel. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/ePsxCzti
