The War Memorial Center was offered space by MKE 2024 Host Committee to help bring to life and share the stories of Wisconsin veterans and their families who served and sacrificed for our freedom. The people that came through our War Memorial Center area were very much like the military and their families that serve our country. The enormous variety of cultural backgrounds of delegates, volunteers, veterans, teachers, senators, military, local and national law enforcement officers, and many more was incredible. These people came from places like Kentucky, Virginia, California, Georgia, New York, Iowa, China, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, Switzerland, Australia, Florida, Japan, Ukraine, and many more. The four traveling exhibits with their informational text and images helped to inform, personalize, and share the experiences for each Wisconsin soldier and their family: LEST WE FORGET I AM NOT INVISIBLE DECORATING OUR HEROES MEDAL OF HONOR We spoke with over 150 different people each day last week. When asked why they decided to visit our area, most of their answers centered around the words like: freedom, family, friends, honor, sacrifice, and service. It was truly an honor just to be there and witness this event. https://lnkd.in/gKZCV3Hw
