Ahhh. The Masters. If you have ever walked around Augusta National Golf Club, you get it. Not sure there is a more surreal moment than being there for the first time. As one friend put it, it is one of the few things in life that actually exceeds expectations. I always watched The Masters with my dad. And to him, and me, the ceremonial first shots were something to behold, The best of the best; truly legends. This year is no different as I watched the three of them tee off this morning. Such an emotional moment for any true golf fan. And yes, it brings back good memories of my dad. Great memories actually. I tell you this because in your career, you have many opportunities to "exceed expectations". In the sales game, it can be making your President's Club. Maybe it's Salesperson of the year. At The Reynolds and Reynolds Company, they literally handed out a jacket, not unlike The Masters. Maybe it's as simple as a thank you from one of your customers for fixing an issue. Remember, problems are really just an opportunity to be a hero. So today, forget the unimportant stuff. Tuck away the negative thoughts. Concentrate on only one thing: How do I exceed my customers' expectations. Do that, and you will truly be remembered as the best of the best. #GoldenBear #GaryPlayer #TomWatson #TheMasters #Salesexcellence #Bestofthebest
I was in the Delta Crown room at Concourse A Hartsfield some years back. There was a crowd huddling around the Big Screen watching the Masters. People sitting in the floor even. During one of the commercials I walked upfront and said in my best West Jacksonville Redneck accent... 'Do Ya'll Mind if I Turned This to Wrassling?" ... Believe it or not several of our Northern Brothers didn't get my Southern Humor and thought I was serious. No fistfight but there were ugly words said. ~ Jim Ziegler #AlphaDawg ~
Warren, if a group of 140 companies can be viewed as 1, as I do when creating our annual Mopar Conference, it is these 140 companies and those who work with them, who have exceeded my expectations. More to come but a shout out to them, best of the best, who help our dealers each year, exceed their own expectations. No jacket but I do make sure each company gets my personally baked box of brownies. We are in a great industry which is made up of great people!
I took your advice, reflected on how I can do best for my customers. Being retired I am my only customer, I only golf twice a week and fish just once a week, I can do better. Thanks, Waren Miller! 😅 TC
