Kibera Slum is the poorest suburb in Kenya and the largest slum in Africa, home to over a million people living in extreme conditions, often earning less than $2 per day. Residents typically live in small shacks made of mud and concrete, with some housing eight or more individuals, while only about 20% of Kibera has access to electricity. In the Kibera slums of Nairobi, hospitality is marked by community engagement and informal economic practices, where local entrepreneurs use available resources creatively to provide services. These businesses, influenced by cultural traditions, face challenges related to safety and hygiene but have the potential for growth through sustainable tourism. ENEP-AFRICA is an acronym for Enkishon Nailepu Empowerment Program Africa. (ENEP-Africa). “Enkishon Nailepu” is a Maasai word for “Upcoming Prosperity” which is an initiative to empower communities to prosper in their livelihood for the upcoming generations. Here at ENEP Africa, we don’t just give hand outs or charity. We give hope, change, empowerment, and skills for people to receive food, income, education, and most importantly, hope for the future. We help those who can’t help themselves, so they in turn can help the next generation.

One of the most difficult things to do in Pakistan is doing welfare work. No one is actually ready to support selflessly. While doing free medical camps none of the companies were ready to donate medicines or even help us buy at the manufacturing cost. None of the businesses were ready to support because this won't count in CSR or whatever they give to avail tax benefits. Even philanthropic is being seen under a give and take phenomena. Instead of support you have to face hurdles when you are helping others. The only positive thing is the passion of volunteers, teachers and young professionals who have always been ready to help others! Will never let such negativity stop this cycle of serving Humanity! We will do as much as we can through All Pakistan Students Union-APSU to help the deserving ones.

Did you know that 97% of young people living in homeless services have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences compared to 47% of the general population? IICF UK is proud to support EveryYouth, a charity supporting 16-25 year olds facing homelessness.  IICF’s grant is helping to fund their Employability, Education and Training (EET) programme in Norfolk and Aberdeen - providing dedicated Employability Coaches who provide practical 1-2-1 support to young people on their journey to EET while building relationships and improving access to local training providers, colleges and employers.
