SUCCEEDING AS A SUMMER TRAINEE 3 years ago, I was working for the first time as a summer trainee. It remains one of the most exciting moment in my professional career. In the same year, I was nominated as the best summer trainee at Wärtsilä which led to be ultimately acknowledged the best summer employee of the year in Finland by Oikotie. What’s the secret? 💡 Positive Attitude: Aside completing my assigned tasks, I use to ask colleagues if they need a helping hand so as to meet the team’s goal. This is something my manager and colleagues really appreciated. Further, aside developing my hard skills, I also focused on developing soft skills. 💡 Be resolute: I participated and contributed to the strategic initiatives of the organization as well as meeting and learning from new people from other teams. 💡 Show Gratitude: I always appreciated people who came my way, no matter how little I learnt from them. Thank you means a lot to people. 💡 Mentorship: I reach out to people in the company who I believed could help me with the right guidance and assistance to advance in your career. 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐨 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐌𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐏𝐀𝐂 𝐊𝐚𝐦𝐫𝐚 ⚙️ I just wrapped up an incredible three-week internship at the 𝙋𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣 𝘼𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙭 𝙋𝘼𝘾 𝙆𝙖𝙢𝙧𝙖, and I'm overflowing with excitement and knowledge! 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒑 107: My journey began in Workshop 107, where I delved into the fascinating world of CNC milling machines. Learning the fundamentals of G-code, machine setup, and even getting hands-on with operations truly sparked my passion for this technology. 𝑩𝒆𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒅 𝑪𝑵𝑪: But my exploration didn't stop there! I had the privilege of visiting various PAC facilities, each offering a unique insight into the diverse aspects of aerospace manufacturing: 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒓 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒑: Demystifying the power of rotary air compressors and their role in powering the workshop. 𝑾𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑻𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒕: Understanding the intricate filtration process to ensure high-purity water for various applications. 𝑨𝒊𝒓𝒄𝒓𝒂𝒇𝒕 𝑹𝒆𝒃𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅 𝑭𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚 𝑴𝒊𝒓𝒂𝒈𝒆 𝑹𝒆𝒃𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅 𝑭𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚: Witnessing the awe-inspiring process of aircraft disassembly, refurbishment, and reassembly. ✈️️ 𝑯𝒚𝒅𝒓𝒂𝒖𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑮𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒑: Uncovering the secrets of landing gear systems and their crucial role in flight safety. ⚙️ 𝑩𝒐𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒓 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒑: Learning about energy conversion and the various applications of boilers in the workshop. 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬: This internship wasn't just about technical knowledge. It was a journey of self-discovery, honing my: 𝑻𝒆𝒂𝒎𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌: Collaborating with fellow interns and PAC personnel strengthened my communication and problem-solving abilities. Throughout my tenure in the Production department, I immersed myself in understanding the automotive industry's intricate workings, witnessing the dedication of individuals contributing to the seamless manufacturing of bikes. One of the highlights was successfully completing the internship project, under the guidance of Muhammad Saeed , involving the design and implementation of an efficient system to count bike on the final assembly line. A situation at your internship where i was assertive and stepped outside my comfort zone. During my internship, there was a situation where a customer came in with a car that had some unusual engine noises. The senior mechanic was busy with another task, so I was left to diagnose the issue myself. This was a bit nerve-wracking because I was still learning and hadn't encountered a problem like this before. Despite feeling a bit uncertain, I decided to take charge of the situation. I carefully listened to the engine sounds, checked the oil level and condition, and inspected the engine for any visible issues. While I didn't immediately pinpoint the exact problem, I gathered enough information to make an educated guess. When the senior mechanic became available, I confidently explained my observations and suggested possible causes for the engine noises. This involved stepping outside my comfort zone because I was putting my analysis and reasoning skills to the test in front of someone more experienced. Ultimately, my assertiveness paid off. The senior mechanic appreciated my initiative and insights, and together we were able to diagnose a minor issue with the engine belt tensioner, which was causing the noise. This experience taught me the importance of trusting my instincts, being proactive, and not being afraid to speak up, even when it meant stepping outside my comfort zone.
