It didn't take long to figure out we had a mindset problem after taking over Framingham lacrosse in 2020. Looking at the results, we turned a team struggling to win 3 or more games for 6+ seasons into a team with 3 straight postseason appearances. We are currently ranked #16 with an opportunity to host a playoff game - something Framingham hasn't done in 10 years. But my mentor Pete Bidstrup reminds me the less we focus on the result, the better we perform, the better the results (sweet irony!). Focus on being present - be aware that emotion is the enemy to performance - shift the focus from being the best to being the best version of yourself. Our entire team wears Coach Bidstrup's Human Reset bracelets - with a little button on it - no matter what is going on we can press the reset button and come back to the present moment. Detachment from the result is the superpower of elite teams... Yes, it is easier said than done! ... but in the end, it all comes down to our mentality... Breaking Barriers and Swinging for the Fences: Introducing California's First All-Women's Beep Baseball Team for the Visually Impaired! Did you know that sports can transcend physical limits and inspire us all? We're thrilled to announce a game-changer in California – the launch of the state's only all-women's beep baseball team dedicated to visually impaired athletes. Our mission? To empower these incredible women to compete, stay active, and showcase their talents on the field, proving that vision is no barrier to achievement. Beep baseball isn't just a sport; it's a testament to resilience, skill, and the sheer joy of competition. Our goal is ambitious: to elevate this dynamic team to a competitive level, traveling across the United States for beep baseball tournaments. This team will play in the San Gabriel Valley general area, but we need some assistance in locating a playing field. If you can provide help in locating an all-grass field roughly 200 feet by 200 feet (no dirt) we would love to connect to learn more. Here's where you come in: We're looking for partners in this exciting venture. Baseball is almost back! We’re excited to kick-off another season at Fantasy Homeruns.  We have some announcements to make about our service, what we are planning to build in 2024, and what is ready for you right now to get your league rolling! Since 2020, FHR has been operating as a not-for-profit, with all profits being donated to the Jackie Robinson Foundation.  In the past 3 years, we have collectively raised close to $10k for the organization!  If you ever had a support request, you probably know we are an extremely small company, just me and my Dad.  We don’t profit at all from this venture, all of the expenses go to keeping the site running, processing fees, and donations to non-profit organizations.   We do this for the love of baseball. In 2024, our prices are going up to $20 per person to play our private league game.  We haven’t changed prices in quite a long time, hope the extra $5 per person for a 7 month long season doesn’t push anyone away.  The profits will still be donated, but in 2024 we plan to invest more of the revenue into a complete website rebuild. Our goal is make the system faster and scalable and expand this game to more people to increase our ability to support positive change in the world.   In 2024, we plan on donating profits to a new organization each year, rather than just JRF.  More to come on that as the season unfolds. Good news, the 2024 season is up and ready for you to create your league’s game and set your draft date!  Rosters for 2024 are up and the players on each team are updating twice a day in FHR.  Spring Training is on the horizon, but be sure to setup your game now (or a new league?) and get your draft scheduled! We’ll be posting some new tips for drafting to help increase the reliability of the process (we know there are some performance issues in the draft process) as we build the next version of FHR in 2024.
