𝗘𝗰𝗼-𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻: 𝗠𝘆𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 🌍✨ Eco-design is an integrated approach to product design that aims to minimize their environmental impact throughout their life cycle (and it’s our primary expertise at EcoloPharm!). Today, let’s address some persistent myths and sort out fact from fiction… and perhaps clarify a few recurring statements! 𝗠𝘆𝘁𝗵 #𝟭: 𝗘𝗰𝗼-𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲! 💸 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: It's true that investing in robotic, precise, and high-performing equipment requires substantial investment. However, by optimizing each step of the manufacturing process, eco-design helps reduce the amount of raw materials, use less energy, and decrease the amount of waste to manage... which contributes to cost savings. 𝗠𝘆𝘁𝗵 #𝟮: 𝗘𝗰𝗼-𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 ⚙️ 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Noooot true! :) One of the principles of eco-design is to do more, with less. The approach also ensures optimal efficiency: the operational benefits of the products are just as important as their environmental gains. This mindset inspired us to develop products that are versatile and/or adjustable. 𝗠𝘆𝘁𝗵 #𝟯: 𝗘𝗰𝗼-𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 ♻️ 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Eco-design goes far beyond recyclability. It involves rethinking the whole creation process to minimize environmental impact *from the start*. Everything is taken into account! The amount of energy and raw materials required to design a product, waste management, the choice of materials to ensure an end-of-life that is as non-damaging as possible, etc. In short, recycling is good... but unfortunately not enough. 𝗠𝘆𝘁𝗵 #𝟰: 𝗘𝗰𝗼-𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 🤯 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Eco-design requires adopting a new way of thinking and planning. The good news? There are many specialized tools and resources available. And we hope to be part of that! Through knowledge sharing, we humbly hope to inspire other companies to follow suit. This overview is quite brief, but out of curiosity, what other advantages do you see in using eco-designed products? #EcoDesign #Pharmacy #MythsAndRealities
