Partner - provider of strategic advice on business rates mitigation, recovery and intelligent ways to manage/minimise this property tax.
The Only Way Is Ethics... It is easy to fall into the trap of being clever, rather than intelligent, when it comes to the header of a LinkedIn post. However, there is an important reason to highlight professional ethics in relation to surveying firms making approaches to occupiers in a business rates context. This activity happens frequently. It remains an important and practical way of establishing which rating advisors are actively representing the other occupiers where one has a client in the same office building, in a comparable property or situated on the same industrial estate. Professional ethics are not the only crucial factor associated with any *direct/indirect approaches made to ratepayers with business development purposes in mind; the integrity associated with the messages being conveyed by the folk employed by professional firms to make contact is important, too. I continue to encourage ratepayers to be proactive in reviewing the assessments applied to their business space by the VOA over this now shorter 3-year 2023 Rating Revaluation period, up to 31/3/2026 – for those that haven’t taken the sensible step of appointing a specialist rating advisor, why not seek recommendations from other contacts in your sector, via your legal/accountancy firm or the agent who acquired your space? [*The above is clearly in addition to firms complying with data regulations.] #businessrates #propertytax #2023revaluation
