Gutted to have missed the Cornwall Business Fair today. It's been one of those days where you wake up groggy, headache, sniffles, and feeling rubbish. So, I've taken a bit of a back seat - along with some paracetamol - and worked on filling the content on the Retina Digital website, which I've been working with Hannah Danson on. It looks like there was some rather fabulous businesses attending! Hopefully I'll catch some of you soon. I've got a full list of value-adding content that I plan to release on the site for small businesses to help themselves. You wont always need me for the smaller tasks, but it will help you see the value in the deeper tasks. This will be things like learning to create a process map, the tools to use, and how to identify bottlenecks, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. For a feature magazine article, I would like to interview event professionals who have held events -- both large and small in Vegas. What was your experience? What tips/advice do you have for other meeting/event professionals?

Day 2 & 3 of the U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. National Conference! I combined day 2 and 3 because there wasn’t programming during the day for general attendees on day 3. Day 2 was very insightful! Stacey Abrams provided great insight on DEI and the true pathway to the American dream. We also learned about practical ways business owners use AI in their everyday work and about how to leverage the tools in Verizon Small Business Digital Ready. My takeaways from day 2: 💡 Running a successful business takes patience. Don’t rush to quit your day job, instead, work in your business and make money before quitting your day job. 💡 When submitting a proposal for a contract, read the request for proposal and do exactly when the proposal asks. Don’t add any extra things. Relax! They didn’t ask for all of that. 💡 You always win when you’re willing to win. During the day on Day 3, Chamber leaders spent time on Capitol Hill, and there was a gala and awards ceremony in the evening. It was a great time! The value you get for the ticket investment in the USBC National Conference is unmatched! I recommend that you join the mailing list and attend next year.
