🚀 Exciting news! The first experiments using the WASTELESS Blockchain—designed by our project partner, WIISE—have begun! 🌱 Salumificio Mottolini Srl, a producer of the famous low-fat bresaola, is the first company to test this tool, aimed at measuring and monitoring food waste within sector companies. The blockchain helps report data based on current regulations and standards, such as the FLW Standard. 👩💼 Dr. Luisa Pezzini, head of quality at Mottolini, with the support of her team, completed the survey with data stored securely on the blockchain. The tool records vital information, from raw materials to by-products and waste streams. Key insights include: 🌾 Reasons for generating side streams and their intended uses ♻️ Breakdown of destinations based on the Waste Hierarchy, including reuse, recycling, recovery, and disposal.
