Water Footprint Implementation’s Post

🥪 Planning to have sandwich for lunch? Here, data from Water Footprint Network shows how every single component of a sandwich can add up to the overall water footprint. A simple cheese sandwich requires about 56 gallons of water. Adding sliced turkey increases the water footprint to 148 gallons. Including a small bag of potato chips adds another 12 gallons, bringing the total to 160 gallons. An ice-cold soda adds 46 more gallons, making this typical lunch require 206 gallons of water to produce.🍞🍅🧀🥓 🙆♂️ Does this mean that you stop eating your sandwich or have a plain one with just lettuce? Absolutely not! This information is only to remind you that every element in our diet consumes heavy water, so we should be mindful about what we eat, and make sure to avoid wasting any food. I think what would be useful to have is the % of blue, green & grey water for each component. Can you please add it to the picture? Thanks!
