Election Day is coming in BC on October 19th and we need your vote! Over 815,000 British Columbians participate in amateur sport, but we haven’t seen an increase to core funding sport since 2010. Add your voice @SportBC’s campaign for health, connection and community and let’s work together to close the funding gap for sport. In addition to physical and other health and wellness benefits, participation in support also supports our province’s economic growth. In fact, some of these benefits include: ● Contributions to domestic and international #tourism (sport activirty drives $1.2B in GDP!) ● Creates job opportunities (there will be >9,200 job openings in sport by 2032) ● Improves employee productivity and reduces absenteeism Share Sport BC’s campaign and add your voice today: https://lnkd.in/g9GRcYkj #SportBC #PoweringSport

I am weighing in, again... I'd rather see a sermon, than hear one, any day! Our actions (or inaction) can reveal more about our true nature and beliefs than our words. The government can harness the potential of sport to drive sustainable development, create economic opportunities and foster a sense of community and identity, by adopting a more serious and strategic approach to sport. This commitment is essential for transforming our country into a sustainable, thriving community where sport plays a central role in shaping a better future. Actions! Below is an excerpt from the St. Kitts and Nevis National Sport Policy.

CSSC joins over 200 organisations, from across the UK’s Health and Fitness sector, in calling on all parties to commit to policies and actions that address the appalling and deteriorating state of health and fitness in the U.K. 2023 saw record levels of sickness absence and the NHS is at breaking point under the demands it faces. Govt, of whichever persuasion, needs cut the rhetoric and deliver resourced action. We need a population that is ‘Up, Out & Active’. Govt and Employers need to collaborate to encourage and assist our communities, our population, our children, our colleagues and ourselves to get active. It’s good for you….it’s good for your family….it’s good for the community…..it’s good for employers…it’s good for the economy & country. Please Share. ukactive #HealthandWellbeing #MyCSSC
Today’s call to the party leaders to make the UK the most active nation in Europe, forms part of the #TakeTheLead campaign that is led by the National Sectors Partners Group – ukactive, Sport and Recreation Alliance, Youth Sport Trust, CIMSPA, Active Partnerships, Sport for Development Coalition. The UK lags behind many of our European neighbours for physical activity levels and this campaign calls on our political leaders to realise the opportunity within our sector to help boost the economy, ease the burden on the NHS and keep the nation active and healthy.

This can be both a critical but also challenging time for Australia’s two major footy codes at peak bleakness of our southern Australia winter mid-point. At least there’s finally decent snow for those lucky enough to be on the Alps on an extended weekend. But the public pulse sometimes can’t be easily dismissed when both NRL & the AFL permeate across MSM & the reactions. And they’re gaining prominence despite the major issues of the week from a near death Trump, to an appearingly politically dead Biden, a predictably misbehaving CFMEU and across the board cost of living concerns. National Rugby League pillar product - State of Origin - produced a decider for the ages - and no doubt exercised some minds at AFL - Australian Football League - House. Still the AFL have got the last weekend in September pretty much wrapped up! A League TV audience on ‘legacy free-to-air’, Wed night approaching 5.5m means around 1 in 5 of us nationally were glued to the gladiatoral battle. That’s impressive. And had a bloke called ‘Bradman Best’ create a water cooler conversation distraction perhaps even in Adelaide on the Thursday. It is very Australia! With the AFL increasingly mired in a fan and public perception debate vs. a tribunal & community standard view of what constitutes a fair tackle (and where ‘Rugby’ tackle techniques have long being implemented at the elite level anyway to bolster this side of the Australian game); these issues have stirred emotion in a restless community. The online banter on this issue appears large and raw. The comms entanglement for those trying to address reality against a preferred perception of events has produced some fascinating case studies. I think these easily transcend sport into other areas. And I think a clear insight into the ongoing mood of many people ‘around the room’ around the role and actions of some Australian institutions at the present. Have a great weekend! #origin #nrl #afl #tackle #ausbiz #auspol #elections #elections2025 #unions #cfmeu #publicperception #publicpulse #footy #costofliving #blues #maroons #soo #bradman #australianeconomy #trump #biden #polling #msm #australia #communications #strategy #communicationsstrategy #tvratings

Today we were in Brussels to talk to the cabinets of the minister-president Matthias Diependaele and Annick De Ridder. We talked about the importance of Special Olympics for persons with IDD. How does Special Olympics work? They are so much more than a sports organization. How do we convince our government to help us, help Special Olympics? I hope that we can be the spokesman. Special Olympics makes them listen to us. We're up to more meetings with more ministers in 2025. Supplementum actiones 💪💪💪 Thumbs up 👍 #inclusionrevolution #SpecialOlympics
