Let's celebrate World Water Day together! 💧 + Agua is committed to inclusive and sustainable development.
Last year, We had the privilege of being part of the project "Support to the Province of Santa Fe for the development of methods for evaluating WASH programs and projects that take into account gender issues". Here we faced the challenge of integrating a gender perspective into the evaluation of investment projects at all stages: from preliminary analysis to follow-up. We recognized that access to water is fundamental to community well-being, and we understood that this perspective must be inclusive, considering the different gender realities and needs.
When we talk about water, it is crucial to address the gender gap in access. We, as women, know firsthand the challenges we face in accessing clean water and managing water resources. Therefore, in each project, we emphasized the need to incorporate indicators that would make visible and address these gender gaps. We know that only through interdisciplinary work and community participation can we ensure fair and bias-free evaluations.
On this World Water Day, let's reaffirm our commitment to gender equity in water management. Let's continue working together to ensure that all, regardless of our gender, have access to this vital resource. Let's join efforts to build a more just and sustainable future for everyone! #WorldWaterDay #GenderEquality #WaterAndSustainability 🌍💙
In 7 out of 10 households without a water supply, #women are most likely to be responsible for fetching water, usually from distant sources, often several times a day. It’s dangerous, laborious and time-consuming.
