It is great to see the government acknowledging the role AI has in rejuvenating UK public services, including inspecting roads and identifying potholes. Our smartphone-based road conditioning monitoring system, DRIMS, utilises AI and Floating Car Data, to measure road-roughness for a given stretch of road to provide five grade condition data. If you’d like to learn more about DRIMS please contact John K Swift or visit our website here. https://lnkd.in/em7hNCCC https://lnkd.in/e38HDQmz

Here in the UK, there's been an exciting update today! The Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom have now officially published a New Data Standard on Road Condition Monitoring for local authorities. This allows interested local authorities to transition from machine based surveys, to new technologies including AI based road condition assessments, such as RoadMetrics AI, for annual road condition reporting. I'm excited to see how this progresses going forward in the coming years. More details on this in the comment section below. #roadmaintenance #highways #uk

Great news for everyone who uses the roads in the UK! Department for Transport is embracing new technologies, like AI-based road condition assessments, to improve the way they monitor the condition of their roads. This is a big step forward in the use of AI in government and could have a positive impact on road safety and efficiency. With AI, authorities will be able to assess road conditions more accurately and quickly, which will help them to identify and address issues more effectively. The slang term "fag" on an online forum can mean "to watch" or "to monitor." This usage is unrelated to the more common derogatory meaning of the word. Examples: - Clockfagging refers to watching or monitoring clocks, often in the context of searching for hidden patterns or codes. - Planefagging refers to watching or monitoring planes, often in the context of tracking flight patterns or identifying specific aircraft. This usage of "fag" is specific to certain online communities and should not be confused with the more common derogatory meaning. Written with AI assistance.

Great case study done by Government Technology showcasing the meaningful work that Rekor's #AI innovative #roadway #incidentresponse system provides for the #community. "A state's ability to find an incident and remediate it quickly is critical to saving lives and improving commutes. One minute of an incident on a roadway creates 15 minutes of #congestion and then the fatality rate of the secondary crashes goes way up... We've got to educate states not only on #cloud but on AI and how those two things together can make a dramatic difference in #publictransportation and #safety for the citizens of that state. It's our job to explain that you can adopt #technology, move to the cloud, and leverage AI models in a #safe, responsible way. There is so much to be had by doing so. It's not something you can ignore and revisit in 10-15 years after the rest of the world has figured it out." - Mike Dunbar, Rekor

🚨🚗 Did you know AI is revolutionizing traffic management? 🚗🚨 From optimizing traffic light timing to identifying traffic violations, AI is making roads safer and more efficient. For instance, AI-powered cameras can detect crosswalk violations and illegal left turns, providing real-time feedback to drivers[4]. Meanwhile, AI-driven traffic light systems can reduce congestion by up to 16.67% and queue lengths by 54.36%[1]. The future of traffic management is here, and it's powered by AI!
