Let your appreciation drive action in this season of gratitude. The Important Marine Mammal Areas (IMMA) programme has made significant progress to identify key marine habitats ripe for conservation, but the North West Atlantic - one of the most impacted regions - still needs our attention. Supporting IMMAs is not just a charitable act - it’s a reinvestment in the future of the yachting industry. By protecting these vital habitats, we’re fostering healthier oceans and ensuring long-term access to the pristine destinations on which the yachting community depends. Will you join us in facilitating a lasting impact for yachting, marine life, and our precious ocean? To set nature on the path to recovery by 2030 to benefit both people and wildlife. Our mission? To my fellow professionals - if you saw the below table in your organisation, and the number of red flags (lack of green) would you feel pressure to address this? This may be a government report, but its goals impact us all. When I see these reports, it can often feel like we've been swimming against the tide, that change is impossible and efforts are futile. But I know that this is important, that limited resources need protecting and that there are scores of people taking action for nature across the country, including dedicated government officers. I am proud to work for Wiltshire Wildlife Trust and be contributing to the difference we can all make. Change doesn't happen overnight, but it does happen. Every step we can make is a step closer to our shared vision. Please if you do one thing today, make a difference by investing in nature and asking the UK Government, MPs, Local Authorities and anyone you know, to join you. We need to change these red flags but it can only be done together. (You can take action for nature in 100's of ways, see the Wildlife Trusts website for ideas or contact me directly. If in doubt - donate!). Note: Table taken from the report: https://lnkd.in/eZSFuKYv

Did you know? Environmental nonprofits are receiving less than 2% of charitable dollars! Out of $471 billion donated to nonprofits in 2020, only $8 billion went towards environmental causes. It's time to prioritize our planet! Let's support organizations dedicated to conservation, wildlife protection, and land trusts. Every little bit counts towards a greener, healthier future for all. #EarthWeek #SaveThePlanet #EnvironmentalJustice #SupportGreenCauses #RedstartCreative #MarylandNonProfits #MarketingForNonProfits

Funding from our Bluespaces programme is helping to create new and improved habitats across Sunderland’s coalfield area. A £20,000 donation from our team delivering a £1m project to deliver upgrades at Lumley Water Treatment Works (WTW) is supporting Durham Wildlife Trust’s Links With Nature programme, which is working across 13 sites in partnership with Sunderland City Council. One of those sites is Elemore Park on the former Elemore Colliery site near Easington Lane, which has since been used as a golf course before being turned into Sunderland City Council’s newest park. Volunteers from Durham Wildlife Trust and Wear Rivers Trust have been working to shape the landscape to enhance biodiversity and to engage with local communities, as part of the The National Lottery Heritage Fund-backed programme. Bluespaces allows us to go above and beyond regulatory requirements to help improve accessible spaces around water. Our investment at the WTW will help to protect and improve the resilience and quality of customers’ water supplies and work is due to be completed in April 2025.

🌳 We believe that reversing the loss of mangroves is a collaborative effort. Without healthy mangrove ecosystems, communities will face food shortages, sea level rises will displace millions across the globe, and countless wildlife species will be wiped out forever. That’s why we take a holistic, hands-on approach to education, training, and capacity-building. Your donations allow us to deliver mangrove best practices in the Bahamas, introduce conservation to school children in Belize, conduct restoration consultancy in East Kalimantan, and so much more. More importantly, your support means we’re empowering communities to take conservation into their own hands. 💪 No matter how much you give, you’re ensuring millions of people reap the benefits of mangrove ecosystems for years to come. Take a stand for the future you want 👉 https://lnkd.in/eWxh3paU #MangroveConservation #CapacityBuilding #NatureBasedSolutions
