SPD - Samples per Day The concept lies at the heart of our unique approach to Proteomics at Evosep Biosystems. Typical LC-MS methods often refer to Cycle Time (the amount of time between injections) or Gradient Length (the time over which the mobile phase is ramped to higher organic concentration). While these may be important analytical considerations, the miss the connection to the outcome. This could be donor samples involved in a cohort study, or individual samples analyzed to help guide diagnosis in a clinical setting. The Evosep One runs using a set of six standard methods that range from 30 SPD up to 500 SPD, balancing throughput with proteome depth. Mass spectrometers keep getting faster so it is possible to either go deeper in the same amount of time, or faster to get comparable depth. The next ClinLine 30-minute Break & Learn webinar on 31 January will be about Biomedical concepts. See the link in the comments for free registration. What are biomedical concepts and how can we practically use them? During this presentation I will dive into the aspects and use of biomedical concepts from various dictionaries. This includes OMOP, CDISC standards and more. Biomedical concepts can be used in our own clinical trial practices and to get access to data from external real-world data sources. One of the difficulties is the linkage (or mapping) of biomedical concepts from one dictionary to another. I will explain the issues and how to overcome them.  This presentation was well received during the PHUSE EU Connect conference in November 2023. Participants liked the clarity and overview and got a better understanding of Biomedical Concepts from it.
