Unlike a bone, if you break a tooth it can't regrow. Well, not yet... Researchers aim to regrow teeth through a new drug. The drug blocks the USAG-1 protein, which enables bone morphogenic protein (BMP) to get to work regrowing teeth. Apparently, a single administration was enough to generate a whole tooth, and they've had successful trials in ferrets (diphyodont animals with similar dental patterns to humans). The drug is moving to human trials and could be ready by 2030. But I wouldn't sign up for this trial. We already know that dysregulated BMP signaling is carcinogenic. Instead, I recommend keeping the teeth you have (via a good diet and nasal breathing).
