This week, we are going to be looking at SPEEDING and why it's not a great idea to do it in a commercial vehicle. One reason that speeding isn't good, is because it is one of the easiest ways for DOT to stop you. If you're speeding, you are inviting DOT to pull you over...and once they have you pulled over, you have just invited them to take a closer look at you. Speeding leads to inspections, and inspections can lead to violations. Maybe you are a squeaky clean driver and don't have HOS violations, but how's your truck and trailer looking? Did you do a thorough pre-trip inspection? Are you confident all your lights are working and your tires are properly inflated and have the right tread depth? There are so many things that can go wrong in an inspection, that it's best not to open yourself up to one needlessly. So watch your speed and don't give DOT any reasons to pull you over.
