Too late to say Happy New Year? Reflecting on the past year, I'm grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow, win and lose, and to pivot. My time at GroupM Sub-Saharan Africa WPP-Scangroup has been incredibly rewarding, despite spending most of 2023 in airports and on PowerPoint. Our level of collaboration and agility in Kenya, has allowed us to achieve a 90% win rate in the pitches we've participated in, and explore new spaces. Beyond the wins, I'm proud of the work I've done in the social impact space, which won us an extension of scope into other markets. Additionally, our Op-Eds have allowed us to share an alternative POV that add value to our clients' businesses. However, what I'm most proud of is being part of a team that embodies the spirit of teamwork. Michael Jordan once said, "Talent wins games but only teamwork wins championships." I'm grateful to be part of a team that has won together and grown together. My Career Reinvention: From Setbacks to Success at Ogilvy UK Hey everyone, I wanted to share a bit about my career journey - it's been quite a ride! Between 2021 and 2023, I found myself in two roles that were a tough fit for me. They pushed me out of my comfort zone, and despite giving it my all, I struggled with managing upwards, proving my value, and adapting to new skillsets in unfamiliar contexts. When I left those roles, I won't lie, I felt like I'd hit rock bottom. The sense of failure and shame was overwhelming, and my confidence took a serious hit. But you know what they say about hitting rock bottom? The only way is up! So, I started climbing. I sought help from therapists and coaches, buried my nose in self-development books, and leaned on my amazing network of friends and connections. I joined a choir (yes, really!), exercised regularly, spent time outdoors, and cherished quality time with my family - all these things helped heal my mental health. During this transition, I took on freelance work to rebuild my confidence. This not only helped me regain my professional footing but also prepared me for job interviews with renewed credibility and high self-esteem. Fast forward to now, and I'm eight months into an exciting role at Ogilvy UK as a Strategy Director. I've had the privilege of working with clients like the International Olympic Committee and F1, helping them better engage their fans. I've collaborated with brilliant and kind strategists, creatives, technologists, and account directors who have made my transition seamless. I've also been exposed to exciting areas of behavioural science and have developed more skills in using AI to make my job easier. The warm and friendly company culture, coupled with a drive for excellence, has made my experience at Ogilvy truly rewarding. If there's one thing I've learned from this journey, it's the importance of self-kindness and clarity. One practical tip? Reflect on every job you've ever had - write down what you liked and disliked about each role. • I overcame 15+ job rejections before landing my first co-op placement with Ogilvy • I started my own consultancy business despite initial client rejections; I now have three clients on monthly retainers (it's still growing). • I even went on more dates than I could even count before finding my husband. What did I learn? ✨ Rejection is not a reflection of worth; it's a stepping stone to success. ✨ Every "no" brings me closer to a "yes." ✨ Community support has been crucial in my journey. ✨ Share your losses and your wins with others, you don't know who it will inspire Remember that you are getting atleast 1% better day by day and growing. That's what counts.

Why am I (still) working at a creative ad agency after 15 years? Because it motivates me working with people with a very different set of skills - yet all both extremely talented and good people. And it motivates me that everyday is about helping other great people with their brand and business challenges. So, when Accenture Song got ranked Denmark’s second-best agency among 26 advertising agencies in MyImage today, I felt proud and motivated. And despite a radical name change and the fact that only half of the 1.000+ marketing respondents know about us, we managed to hit a top5 position across ALL 9 image parameters amongst the ones that do: - Great client business understanding - Great digital competencies - Flexible & agile - Great at analysing & applying data - Great at integrated communication - Great at delivering results - Great strategically - Great creatively - Great at consumer insights That takes a team of VERY different and VERY talented people (which I can confirm are also good people) 💜 A huge thanks to our clients, collaborators and competitors that continue to push the bar for great work. Because when is work good enough? To me it is when it makes me proud.

This type of post usually follows unfortunate and sometimes unavoidable circumstances, probably less often it comes as a result of our own choice: After nearly five years at Xaxis / GroupM, I have made the decision to resign. This wasn't an easy choice, but one that feels right - it aligns with my values and integrity. I am grateful for the experiences and opportunities this journey has afforded me, especially the chance to build something from the ground up and witness its growth. Yet, what truly matters are the people that we meet along the way - I value the relationships built with so many amazing individuals. Partnering with you has been as fulfilling as learning from your expertise. Thank you all for contributing to my professional journey. I do not know yet what comes next - an unusual situation for me :) Even though it is unsettling at times, I also feel excited and ready to explore different possibilities that this new chapter will bring! Through my career, I have acquired a diverse set of skills and worn many hats, which I'm confident can bring value to businesses seeking growth, expansion or just starting out.
