Join the Fight Against Type 1 Diabetes: Support My 100-Mile Ride with Just a Few Minutes of Your Time I’m thrilled to embark on the Breakthrough T1D 100-mile ride again this December, and I need your help to make a real impact in the fight against Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). Last year, your incredible support helped me reach my goal, and this year, you can make an even bigger difference — without spending a dime. Here’s how: The Breakthrough T1D Northern Florida Chapter has teamed up with HundredX to turn your opinions into powerful donations. For every quick survey you complete about various products and services, $1.60 will be donated to my ride, up to $120 per person! It’s incredibly simple: 1.Text JDRF to 90412. 2.Follow the link in the reply. 3.Select JDRF Northern Florida. 4.Choose me, Clay Breznik, to support. Each survey takes just a minute or two. In the time it takes to watch an episode of your favorite show, you could help raise over $30 for T1D research. Imagine the impact we can make together if just a few of you take a moment to participate. Let’s ride towards a cure for T1D, one survey at a time. Thank you for your continued support. Your time and effort mean the world to me and to everyone fighting this disease. Let’s make this year’s ride a breakthrough!

Please consider donating today and any support you can provide, even if it's simply helping us to get the word out. Forward this to doctors, educators, nurses, organizations, clinics, friends, and families whom you think would be willing to support this effort. With your help, we can get the T1D1 (Type 1 Day 1) App back up in the App Stores and help make the lives of so many people just a little easier. Please read the story about how this critical app can be helping those with Type 1 Diabetes, get the help they need in controlling this terrible disease. However, additional funds are needed to get the necessary approvals to bring this app back for free to help people with this terrible disease. https://lnkd.in/eN6qqHjS

Hello everyone! Some of may or may not know that my sister Molly Tinkle was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes on November 1, 2023 (coincidentally the first day of type 1 diabetes awareness month) We’re walking to raise money for Breakthrough T1D, the leading global type 1 diabetes (T1D) research and advocacy organization. T1D is an autoimmune disease that is diagnosed in both children and adults and has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle. Managing T1D requires constant attention and action—including overnight. Even with a strict regimen, people with T1D can still experience dangerously high or low blood sugar that can lead to complications and, in extreme cases, be life-threatening. No organization does more to improve everyday life with T1D—from therapy development and access, to expanding research, advocacy, and community support. Breakthrough T1D is creating a movement to improve and change life with type 1 diabetes, advancing life-changing breakthroughs on the way to cures. 💙 We invite you to join us in taking action for the entire T1D community by contributing to the cause. Every dollar makes a difference! Attached is the link to donate:

CEO at the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre | Leadership & People Management | Business Transformation | Innovation in Health Care
I have never been someone to go for a walk or a run without a good reason. It’s not my happy place. So as I contemplated launching another run (hah!) at the HBF Run for a Reason I thought deeply about exactly why it is that the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre organizes a team for the Run for a Reason. Yes, to raise funds to support families impacted by type 1 diabetes of course, but what it is that makes type 1 diabetes so challenging? Why should the community get behind people with type 1? What makes it worthy of support? Here are a few reasons to support us as we lace on the running shoes and ask for your support, for the community to stand behind us, for type 1 diabetes to be your reason: 1. No one asks for type 1 diabetes, there is nothing they could have done to prevent it, nothing they did to bring it on - its arrival is unfair, unwelcome, and like a bolt from the blue. 2. Its burden is real – Stanford estimated that living with type 1 diabetes adds around 180 extra health-related decisions to your life EVERY SINGLE DAY. 3. Its burden is unrelenting – there is no off switch, no holiday from type 1 diabetes. No matter what is going on in your life it is there, demanding attention, punishing inattention. 4. Its impacts ripple throughout a family – we always say it is the family gets type 1 diabetes when someone is diagnosed. Whether it is parents taking on the burden for their children, brothers and sisters missing out on quality time as type 1 takes up the space or partners being awoken by blaring alarms – it is ever-present. 5. There isn’t a prescription to solve it – insulin is our magic potion, but it’s also a lethal drug with the potential to kill or harm every time it is administered. And there are no set doses – you need as much as you need at any one time, influenced by more than 42 factors we know so far. The good news is that there is almost nothing that someone with type 1 diabetes cannot do, cannot achieve. But to place that burden on the individual, to let them shoulder that massive, unrelenting, incurable weight on their shoulders is unfair. With the right support, we can lessen and share the burden. We can make type 1 smaller, we can let families thrive. Please, support our efforts in the HBF Run for a Reason and know that your donation is for a VERY good reason. https://lnkd.in/gNeKCQ_Q
