We were honored to welcome Boston Mayor Michelle Wu to our Boston headquarters last week! Mayor Wu sat down with Kate Gulliver, Wayfair's CFO & CAO, for a brief fireside chat about her background and journey to becoming the Mayor of Boston. Afterwards, she opened the floor for a Q&A with our Wayfairians, answering questions about the Boston commute, parks, education, housing and more. As a part of our journey towards sustainability, we are constantly testing and learning the best ways to take care of the home we all share: our planet. That's why we're excited to be participating in a pilot program with WattEV, Inc. and their heavy-duty EV trucks. During this pilot, we're testing these vehicles for more sustainable middle-mile deliveries, looking to discover and learn more about how we can best reduce our Scope 3 greenhouse gas transportation emissions.

We are proud to announce the ambitious goal of achieving zero waste across of Wayfair's global operations by 2030! This means taking a comprehensive approach to minimizing waste and diverting 90%+ of our waste away from landfills and incineration. Alongside our target to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 63% by 2035, these goals highlight Wayfair's dedication to driving climate action and more effectively reusing, recycling and reducing waste. Today, we’re proud to release our third-annual Corporate Responsibility Report and our commitment to achieving zero waste across our global operations by 2030! This year’s report, titled “Bringing Impact Home,” dives into Wayfair’s corporate responsibility performance in 2023 across three pillars: our communities, our people and our planet. Our zero waste goal is an ambitious target that aims to divert over 90 percent of our operational waste from landfills and incineration. This commitment, along with our goal of reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 63% by 2035, highlights our dedication to driving climate action and more effectively reusing, recycling and reducing waste. As we look back on a year full of progress, we are eager to continue growing and improving across each area. In celebration of Global Volunteer Month, our Social Impact team recently held the second-ever skills-based volunteering event! From marketing to engineering, Wayfairians around the business provided insights to assist both Housing Families and Fenway Community Development Corporation address housing challenges in the Greater Boston area. Wayfair welcomed 137 interns within the past week, joining our Boston Headquarters, Austin & Toronto Technology Development Centers, and Cranbury, NJ Fulfillment Center! We have students from 55+ colleges and universities across undergraduate, Master's, PhD and MBA programs. Our interns support a wide variety of business functions including Talent, Supply Chain, Commercial, Software Engineering, IT, Finance, and more! Aside from working on high impact projects that directly contribute to our business, our interns will join a Senior Leadership Dialogue series, attend MLB and MLS games, participate in an Innovation Project, and celebrate National Intern Day. We are thrilled to have them with us, and can’t wait to see all they accomplish this summer. Enjoy some pictures of our interns' first week!

Today’s the day: our Wayfair store officially opened its doors today in Wilmette, IL! This store represents an incredible milestone for our company, and we’re thrilled to be able to meet and delight our customers in a whole new way. The two-story, 150,000 square foot store offers an innovative and distinct home shopping experience, where customers can explore 19 departments and find anything they need for their home, from furniture to home decor, housewares, appliances and home improvement products for any style, space or budget.
