Modern politics are clearly one of the most polarizing topics we could be discussing today. Everywhere we turn, we see our country and world swept up in debates, narratives, and controversy. This clearly shows us that people have very different views. Democrats and Republicans have become more divided in the last 40 years and it has caused a polarity that is sometimes even seen and felt in the Church. As Christians, we cannot allow the political agendas of the world to persuade us into beliefs and behaviors that are contradictory to the way of Jesus. We must think Biblically about politics and always have a Christ-centered lens because we are disciples of Jesus, not of our culture. This means that our way forward is not about choosing a side to follow because we have already chosen a King to serve. https://lnkd.in/gTzwxDDN

Stoicess' Secret: Excluded From Family Event.  You live out of town and decided to visit your elderly parent. Your elderly parent was excited to hear you were coming and gave no indication that you should reconsider your plans. On arrival at the homestead, you learn that your sibling is having a family event later that evening, which your parent will be attending. However, you were told that this was their family event, and you were not invited to attend. As you watch your parent drive away from the homestead to attend the event, your immediate impulse is to immediately book a flight and leave town tonight because you are apparently not a part of this family any longer. There is an abundance of information out there, much of it being of little value. Useless or misguided advice surrounds us, and as fathers, it is our responsibility to sift through it and discern the valuable advice. It is not common to come across a church video here, but this time, a pastor has shared a message that can greatly impact fathers. It doesn't matter if you are religious or not, there is power in this message. I hope you take away two key points from this. Firstly, recognize your role as the leader of your family. Secondly, grasp the significance of being the Elder of your family.
