First day of NRF´24 Big Retail Show! First reflections on themes and presentations: CEO Michelle Gass of Levi´s reflected on the importance of Direct To Consumer also for driving the Wholesale business and had four lessons for retail: The Importance the Brand. You need to be truly obsessed with your customer. Your business needs to be innovation driven to continue to grow. Be true to your Purpose and be Value driven Of course, a lot of session on AI and both Microsoft and Salesforce presented integrated AI business solutions based on their Co-pilot (Microsoft) and Einstein (Salesforce). To utilize AI for retail you both need integrated AI solutions and re-think your operation model, governance structure and organizational structure. Highlight of the day for me was Euromonitor´s presentation “The five digital shopper trends that will redefine commerce in 2024” embracing both AI for hyper personalized and intuitive e-commerce and sustainability approach with trends for “Recommerce” and returns.
