May - Is this the month you become an accredited Mental Health First Aider? Join "terrific" and "engaging" instructor, Nicole Jordan, at Arts Centre Melbourne for our most popular course. Mental Health First Aid is a straightforward, non-judgemental investigation into how we can support those in mental distress - much like how other First Aid courses teach you to help those in physical pain. Nicole says it best - "Being trained in Mental Health first aid contributes to a culture where there is a high level of trust. It empowers you to provide support in a variety of ways without needing to know all the solutions." Don't miss out on your spot! 2 & 3 May 2024, 9am - 5pm https://lnkd.in/g9zBPsQv #MentalHealthFirstAid #PerformingArts #Creative #WorkplaceWellbeing Mental Health Education and Training

Program Highlight: Mental Health First Aid May being Mental Health Awareness month, we wanted to talk about our Mental Health First Aid program at Valley Cities. WHAT is mental health first aid? Just as CPR training prepares people without medical backgrounds to help someone who is having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid trains people to help someone who is at risk of developing a mental health problem or who is going through a mental health crisis. This training, offered FREE to those over 18 living or working in King County gives participants the resources and skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to someone experiencing a crisis, using a 5-step action plan. Interested in learning more about the program? Look no further than https://lnkd.in/gSJkF3Gi

As a legal advocate in our community, it screeches my heart between our mental health, homeless families, and youth killing adults in domestic violence. I, the organization staffing, and volunteers need to take advantage of receiving the Youth and Adult Mental Health First Aid course, the course is free, and in high demand for our mental health that can NOT recognize the assistance they may need. No question we receive the funding; Accountability is the answer! Mental Health Aid Course https://lnkd.in/guGJn2tY

When it comes to mental health, our attention often centers on helping those in need. However, it's just as important to consider the well-being of first aid responders. Mental Health First Aid training has taught me how to provide initial support and help until appropriate professional help can be accessed as well as how to recognize and support first aid responders who may be experiencing their own challenges. #mentalhealth #firstaid #support #wellbeing
