"Start working reproducibly from the start of your project; the sooner you learn how to do it, the easier it is and the more you will gain from it," says Dr Michael De Boer of the Netherlands Reproducibility Network (NLRN) as part of his advice to early career researchers. In this interview on strengthening scientific integrity De Boer gives advice on how one can make your research more reproducible, and what infrastructure and support is in place to help researchers do this: https://lnkd.in/eU6uf-bJ

The European #CodeOfConduct for Research Integrity increasingly serves as a model for national and institutional codes of conduct, funding guidelines, training initiatives, and discipline-specific standards. For example, it recently formed the foundation for guidelines on responsible #OpenScience, developed by the #HorizonEurope-funded ROSiE Responsible Open Science in Europe project. "ROSiE General Guidelines on Responsible Open Science" 👇 https://lnkd.in/dAQTN_Ai "ROSiE Field-specific Guidelines on Responsible Open Science" 👇 https://lnkd.in/dgJQxCpM Similarly, it has inspired the European Research Area (#ERA) forum guidelines for the responsible use of generative #AI in research 👇 https://lnkd.in/eG9qHBNV In the meantime, 14 #translations of the European Code of Conduct can already be found on our website - more to come! 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gaSicRAu #ResearchIntegrity #SciencePolicy #EuropeanCommisson #EU #ResearchEthics

Physician-Scientist developed/provided proof of concept for the hypothesis that cancer is a disease of hypermosaicism, not clonality.
A succinct and important op-ed about the larger purpose of science. Educated and informed dissent is critical to not repeating the mistakes of the distant and recent past. The structure of the academic enterprise, and its government and professional oversight has failed miserably in promoting such dissent.
