H2Global Foundation released an interesting report about hydrogen certification. "Hydrogen molecules do not have a specific 'fingerprint' that contains information about where they come from, how sustainable they are and how they were produced. A new Turquoise Hydrogen project has been announced by NW Natural and Modern Hydrogen, featuring an innovative form of carbon capture aimed at reducing emissions by blending natural gas with hydrogen. This collaboration marks several firsts: - The first utility-distributed pyrolysis system - The first pipeline injection of pyrolytic hydrogen - The first solid carbon capture project for both companies Over this three-year pilot, they'll utilize methane pyrolysis to create Turquoise Hydrogen and carbon black, a key material in the rubber industry. Notably, manufacturers like Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company have already used black carbon produced by Monolith.
