Are we tired of Dove commercials yet? Absolutely NOT! The Super Bowl ad last night was a powerful reminder of why. 20 years later, Dove is still publicly standing against negative beauty standards and the enduring strength of this message never gets stale because it resonates authentically and builds a brand identity that is instantly recognizable and relatable. The secret? Inclusivity at the core of the brand. Dove makes products for everyone - men, women, and even babies, but they create global buzz when they tap into the zeitgeist of women and live out their core values that champion inclusion and body positivity. 🥕 Carrots of Fire 🥕 🥕 Fans of vegetable-based mascots are celebrating this week with the return of Kevin the Carrot. This new spot from McCann Manchester sees Aldi's orange celebrity, re-named 'Kévin La Carotte' get into the Olympics spirit by parachuting into the Stade de France using some Union Jack y-fronts. Team GB's Max Whitlock then uses Kevin to light the Olympic flame. (It makes more sense when you see the ad, promise). 🥇 Aldi UK aren't holding back on the Olympics (the spot is called 'Race Against Thyme', lol). They've just extended their Team GB partnership for another eight years (taking them to Brisbane 2032). They're also releasing a limited-edition range of 'Kévin La Carotte' plushies, which are bound to get snapped up. 🤔 It's a fun spot, and props to the team at McCann Manchester for coming up with a fun take on the Olympics that stands out among the usual 'athlete-as-hero' and overly-reverential styles that Olympic-themed ads often adopt. It's also great to see Aldi leaning into the daft appeal of Kevin, letting him lose on another major calendar event beyond Christmas. I’m not sure I can express how much I love this partnership already! 🤝🏼Yesterday, Scuderia Ferrari and Birra Peroni announced their new partnership with the funniest video I’ve seen in a while. 🍻 In it, we can see Charles and Carlos entering the Peroni Nastro Azzurro 0.0% facility in Rome, all while following Frederic Vasseur’s instructions. 🍻Their job? Get the beer and change the label! For this important occasion, in fact, Peroni produced 2024 bottles of Tifosi Nastro Azzurro 0.0%, the union of the brands’ strong visual identities. It will be the first of a series of limited edition products and I’m really excited to see what’s next. 💡Why do I like this partnership? Peroni has been on the #F1 grid for a while but now two of the most famous Italian brands will join forces. Both of them have tradition and innovation as core values, together with innovation and style. Plus, there’s a mix of experience and strong, recognizable identities that make me think great things are coming, at least in terms of marketing! 💡Why do I like this video? Ferrari and Peroni do not need to say who they are, you just know. Is this the most original video ever? Probably not, but it’s fun to watch and it gets to the point. The brands announce their partnership but still manage to put the #tifosi at the center or, better, on the label. The team at Claybourne Co. made one of my dreams come true and brought a skate activation to our 420 Grand Opening party in Fontana! 🛹 It was awesome! This video is a recap of one of the 6 larger events we threw on 420. No matter how many openings and events we do (and we've done a lot!), I always get a bit of nerves. “IS ANYONE GOING TO SHOW UP?!” Nerves are good tho. It means you’re not complacent.
