My eight year old was named after this kid - (the Dylan in James Dylan Owen) - and we haven’t seen him since he was James’s age. He’s 18 now and hit me up on social media and asked if I’d mentor him. He’s turned into a DAMN fine young man. This kid saw me at my absolute worst, saw me have a heart attack, saw me on the wrong end of a 12ga, saw me zip tie a stab wound to stop the bleeding - but, he also saw me get between his mama and a 6'4" violent drunk woman beater a few times. Even in my madness, I had a heart to protect women and kids. I don’t know how he turned out as well rounded as he did, but I’m grateful - and I had a chance to make proper amends to him tonight

As a “Dylan James” I connect with this. Keep doing Gods work. Fu** the people trying to keep you from doing the work of loving and leading. Hoping the Big Man smiles down on Gangland and your other projects to empower people to earn their way to God’s kingdom. Praying for your mission and for your protection and prosperity. Amazing progress! I guess you have a life which moves in waves like paradigms. Congratulations on a great life you are living. God bless you and your family. ❤❤❤

It sounds like an incredibly meaningful moment for you, reconnecting with him after so many years and finding a way to guide him. The fact that he reached out shows the impact you’ve had, even through the tough times. It’s powerful when life gives us these second chances to make things right.

God Bless you sir !!! Maybe later this week when you get a minute, I want to run an idea by you.

Just like our Father does for us! Thank God for his Grace everyday! Great work guys

This poor kid has been through a lot. He's a smart (and lucky) kid to have you as a mentor.
