Are Oasis creeping into most of your Slack conversations today, or is it just us? 😅 Good luck to everyone trying to get tickets tomorrow – and "don't look back in anger" if you don't get them. I mean... maybe you're gonna be the one that saves instead? 😉 We'll see ourselves out...

If LinkedIn was the #general Slack channel on a friday... Happy Friday, Team! 🎉 We made it! Another week of brilliance, caffeine, and probably too many “quick” Zoom meetings 🧑💻☕️. Before you log off and vanish into the weekend abyss, here’s a little checklist: 1. Close your 87 open tabs (or at least pretend to). 2. Set your Slack status to “Out of Office” 🏖 (Even if you’re just heading to the couch). 3. Mentally prepare for that Monday morning “What did we decide again?” moment. Oh, and remember: calories don’t count on weekends, and neither do notifications, so mute away 🔕. Have an epic weekend, everyone! See you on the other side! ✌️🎉

This is an accurate representation of a common theme.
Ahhh…it’s humo day! Does anyone have a coworker that will send 50 emails on the same subject to ask 50 questions, and or not understand the previous email? Then this post is for you! 😂 We’ve all been there! When you see it about to happen just pick up the phone or do a quick Zoom/Teams call. Nothing worse than responding to endless emails. Have a great day everyone!

Pro tip: Wanna get your wild-and-wheelin-free colleagues to thread more stuff in Slack? (Because holy sh*t does it get messy if they don't?) Well, I highly recommend assigning a random (annoying) emoji that you post every time a comment should be inside the thread of its parent comment. I'm personally partial to the good ol' goose-bonk, where a goose hits them with a stick. As you can see below, even your team will revel in joining the glee of policing the hygiene of Slack channels — and best of all, some nameless goose will do all of the corporeal punishment work for you. Win-win. It's like magic. (cc, The People's Champion, Melanie Demi)

We've given our Slack channel a much-needed refresh! 🛠️ We know Slack fatigue is real, but trust us, our community is worth it 😉 We've streamlined the channels, cut off all the slack (pun intended), and added exclusive platforms for our members! 💛 Important Updates – the main channel that’s relevant for everyone: events, applications, and more. 🔒 Member Companies – exclusive information for our members: funding, events, tools, etc. If you are our member company and haven’t received the invitation to the channel, shoot us a DM! 🔒 The Playground – exclusive information for the Playground participants: the programme, events, tools, and much more. Come join the conversation and stay updated on everything happening in our community: https://lnkd.in/dZ7YZv6D PS. After some time, we’ll collect your feedback on the new structure and we’ll launch more channels if necessary! #HankenBusinessLab #ThePlayground Hanken School of Economics

Here’s a Slack hack to boost your efficiency: Step 1: Read a message. Step 2: Mark it as unread so you don’t forget it. Step 3: Forget that you already read it. Step 4: Read it again. Step 5: Mark it unread again—just to be safe. Repeat indefinitely, never actually doing the task. 😅

Our yearly number of Slack messages went down by 17%. This is why it should concern you: Surely, you have seen the disquieting trend of the past 30 years. Separating a single piece of information into several messages. Resulting in your notifications going haywire. Beeping incessantly. Only to receive. A message. Looking like. This. Did you know that 100 years ago, this issue was virtually unheard of? That people would condense all they had to say into a single message and send it out all at once? Incredible, we know. Is this a sign of the slow downfall of our Western civilization? However, you and us are not even those who suffer the most, believe it or not. The true victims are the Enter keys and “send” icons on numerous keyboards globally. Both physical and virtual. They have not been made to be abused like this. With how things are right now, it is estimated that 78% of Enter keys will have burned out by 2030. You can end the cycle of abuse right now. That’s why we’ve started the #SaveTheEnterKey initiative. Press your Enter key less. Condense your messages. Save your sanity. P.S.: 17% less Slack messages is just one of our statistics of 2024! Scroll the carousel below for more. Happy 2025, everyone! 😊
