We loved playing, but we often felt lost in our search for teammates and quality competition. We loved esports but longed for a community or people with similar passion to discuss it with. We loved tournaments but never got a forum to keep check and track our performance. This realization sparked an idea: what if we could create a platform that connects players with communities? Here is where Matchup was born. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to increase access to sports for everyone, regardless of age or skill level. We believe that sports are essential for fitness and social connections, but too many people don’t know where to start or who to play with. At Matchup, we’re not just building a platform; we’re creating a community where your voice matters. We want to hear your excitements when your favourite team scores a goal and you can share it with tons of people. We want to hear your challenges when you want to start learning a sport but do not get the right start. We want to hear your frustrations when it comes to connecting with people who share the same passion as you do. Once a spectator places a bet, he or she puts something at stake and cheers for the outcome in the sport that will make him or her win.
