HII reposted this
As we prepare to celebrate the Independence Day holiday, I invite you to watch this moving guitar performance of the national anthem by one of our own – NNS firefighter and Apprentice School graduate William Davis IV. We filmed him in our shipyard as a symbolic reminder that shipbuilding is more than a job. It’s an honorable and noble calling that directly supports the freedoms we hold so dear. Thank you for keeping our Navy safe and our nation free. Have a happy and safe Fourth of July!
Having met with many of your valued and skilled craftsmen and women, I can say that your people take great pride in what they build. Great rendition of our national anthem and reminder of what we can still do as a nation.
I will follow the 4th July from Brest in western France.
Outstanding. Tell me Shipbuilders are not creative and patriotic. Motivating!
Thank you for sharing for everyone's contributions to keep us safe.
Absolutely wonderful - thank you for posting this!

3moThanks to William Davis IV for playing this tune to celebrate the Independence Day. Bravo Zulu When I joined Newport News Shipbuilding, A Division of HII in December 2014, I knew in my heart that this was going to be a more than another job. I am glad that I made this commitment to serve our nation indirectly and as Jennifer Boykin put it so eloquently that “It’s an honorable and noble calling that directly supports the freedoms we hold so dear”. It was an honor working for HII and I encourage to all those who like challenging roles and want to serve our nation. Amanda Clarke Harpreet Kaur Naresh Lachmandas
