Do you build a product to solve problems or a product that can scale? That is obviously a trick question as the answer is both. However for early stage, we can’t do both at the same time. We need to begin with solving ‘hair on fire’ problems and transition to differentiation that can scale. At LiveIn, 1 of our 6 VMV is ‘Think global, act local’. It is important for us to localize to solve specific problems without losing sight of the strategic global vision. We recognize we need to differentiate ourselves to truly win the market as merely solving problems will eventually lead us into the red ocean. Carving out a blue ocean for ourselves is always top of our minds in line with ‘thinking globally’. Neither can we enter the market with a rigid playbook without consideration given to localized problems. One cannot exist without the other if we are to win. It’s vitally important not to lose sight of the strategic goals while we are solving localized problems.
