In the world of recruitment, experience isn't just a nice-to-have; it's an absolute necessity. Let's face it, when you're entrusting someone to find the perfect fit for your team or your career, you want assurance that they know what they're doing. That's where seasoned industry experts come in. Consider this: How long has your recruiter been in the game? What breadth of experience do they bring to the table? These are questions that shouldn't be overlooked. After all, credibility isn't just about fancy profile photos or impressive filters; it's about a track record of success built over years of navigating the intricacies of various sectors. Take it from someone who's been around the block a few times – me. With 11 years in the recruitment trenches, I've seen it all. From the fast-paced world of Freight, Transport & Logistics to the dynamic realm of Print and Media, from the precision of Automotive and engineering to the rugged terrain of the building industry and construction, I've traversed diverse landscapes, honing my skills and gaining invaluable insights along the way. But why does this matter? Because experience breeds wisdom. It's not just about knowing where to look for talent or how to craft the perfect job description; it's about understanding the nuances of different industries, recognising the subtle cues that indicate a candidate's potential, and having the confidence to make tough decisions when the stakes are high. So, when it comes to recruitment, don't settle for mediocrity. Seek out those who've earned their stripes, who've weathered the storms and emerged stronger on the other side. Because in a world where talent is king, trust is the currency that separates the amateurs from the experts. And when you're investing in your team or your career, trust is something you can't afford to compromise on. #recruitmentlegends #ARCH www.archpartners.co.nz Chloe 022 515 1276 #fancyphoto #filter

Ever feel like finding the perfect candidate is like hunting for Bigfoot? You know they exist, but they’re just so good at hiding! We’ve all been there: sifting through resumes, scheduling interviews, only to have your top pick vanish into thin air right before the offer. Did they join a circus? Witness protection program? The world may never know! But here’s the kicker— When it comes to attracting top talent, how your organization is perceived can be a game-changer. Candidates today are looking for more than just a job—they’re seeking a company whose values align with their own. A strong employer brand not only draws in the best candidates but also keeps them engaged throughout the hiring process. So, hiring managers, what’s the most elusive quality you’re looking for in your next hire? And how do you think your employer brand is helping—or hindering—your search? Let’s compare notes—who knows, your ideal candidate might already be within our reach!

New Year! New You! New headshot! As a recruiter, when I search for top talent- I not only look at your work history, I look at your headshot. Questions that run through my head: Are they dressed professionally? Do you have a professional Background? These images are a reflection of you, so when hunting for a new job you should be on the top of your professional appearance game! Most of my hiring managers will tell me, appearance is key when interviewing. So why not make the most out of your headshot? #newheadshot #friendlyreminder #medicaldevicejobs #medicaldevicesales #medicaldevice

If it’s too good to be true, it probably is! You think you have the PERFECT candidate, then suddenly you start noticing some things that don’t add up...Tune in the next few days for some red flags to watch for when recruiting. Red Flag #3: During the final stages of the hiring process, a candidate who seemed very eager and interested in the job suddenly reveals that they have multiple other interviews lined up and need more time to decide. It appears that they were just looking for different offers or using your offer as leverage to negotiate a better deal with their current employer. Despite repeatedly asking them about other opportunities throughout the interview process, they insisted they had none until the very end. This behavior may be a red flag for candidates who are simply shopping around for the best offer. Be cautious when encountering such situations. #offershopping #recruitmenttips #redflags

If you really want to connect with an employer or hiring manager, you need to speak to their needs, not what you think they want to hear. Go as far as asking them what challenges they are facing in the workplace and tell them how you can contribute to meeting those needs. Be unique and stand out. Find out what really sets you apart and leverage that in your interviews or when networking. The below is from an employer's perspective: "Hey Andrea, when I was hiring earlier this year, 9 out of 10 applicants offered their features and never their benefits to me. Features: qualification (everyone has one), experience (everyone has it) and so on. Only one told me that by hiring them, I would benefit from a team player, analytical thinker and a contributor to my goals (It was all about me)." Remember, a "one-size fits all" mentality will not get you through the door. #CareerAdvice #RecruiterLife #InterviewTips #Employer #BeUnique

This week’s candidate experience pearler. I’ve just realised it’s been an entire month between being told that the client loves my CV and experience and definitely wants to interview me and still not receiving any potential dates for said interview. Wow. Seriously what the hell is going on with companies at the moment? They either have work they need doing or they don’t. This dithering is indicative of massive stagnation or ineffective leadership. Or both. It’s utterly baffling. PS Recruitment Consultant has been excellent with the updates and transparency, of course. Another reason why I love working with them. #job #jobhunt #jobhunting #recruiting #candidate #onthemarket #opentowork IMAGE DESCRIPTION: a cartoon woman set in the 1950s lounges on a chaise wearing a blue dress while on the telephone.
